I wouldn't worry too much, YuYuYu was doing almost catastrophically badly until episode 9 came out, then it became a hit. Now that we've outdone even episode 9 in the misery department and the October announcement will reignite the hype for the anime that's been slowly fading, I'd expect sales for the second LN to be almost double that of the first volume. Probably double if they actually finally do something with Takashima.

I think that Takashima is a god who sided with humanity but doesn't remember her own origins, but what she does know is that she doesn't side with Shinju yet she will still cooperate with him against the heavenly gods because she hasn't much of a choice in that matter.

The longstanding theory about Yuuki back in Divine Era 300 is that destroying the Leo Vertex caused her to go into the comatose like state she ended up in all the times like when Takashima over-exerted herself (which we have now seen three times). On top of that, I believe that her forcing herself into Mankai turned her into a physical god (if she wasn't one already albeit dormant) moments before she charged into the Leo Vertex.

After waking up from her coma (what happened during that time is still unclear, especially whether mental time travel or necromancy was even involved), she was slow to recover but otherwise fine aside from the dizzy spells. I believe that the dizzy spells are being caused by her soul reacting to both being in the coma and fighting Leo, because she had already done both of those things in a different body as Takashima.

And yeah I figure that if Yuuki doesn't remember her "past life" then Takashima doesn't either, or we're simply being left in the dark about her intentions on purpose. All we know is from that one diary entry back in chapter 3 where Takashima says that she wants to try the trump card because of the adrenaline rush it gives her or something like that.

That's the gap in my theory though. And they're not 100 percent identical, actually. Aside from wearing their hairpins on different sides of their heads, Yuuki having O blood type and Takashima's being unspecified, there are also differences like how when Yuuki activates her Hero System her hair goes from red to bright pink, which is a feature that none of the other Heroes have (though its very common for magical girls in other series like Pretty Cure, especially starting from Suite onwards).

Actually, Fuu's hair color also got lighter when she transforms, from dirty blonde to a golden one. It's not as noticeable as Yuuna's but the change is there.

But my point doesn't change. None of the alterations in their hair color and texture even comes close to Yuuki Yuuna's which is a full shade change, and Takashima doesn't even have that when she transforms. That's just one part of my theory that shows how much of an anomaly she is.

I just had a disquieting thought. They say that the souls of the people who die get absorbed into the Shinju and reincarnated, but what about the 7 billion or so people outside of Shikoku who died? Karin is basically a less disturbed Asuka, got the inferiority complex, desperation for parental approval and overcoming her inherent lack of skill compared to the others through obsessive training down pat. And she did wear an eye patch in the last episode if you really care about that. Sonoko or Fuu wouldn't be good Asuka stand ins compared to her. If Fuu would be anyone it'd be Misato, fighting to avenge her dead dad. Sonoko could be Rei with the bandages and similar appearance to a dead cast member and Yuna could be Kaworu, for obvious reasons. Itsuki, I have no idea.

Okay the reason I said that it should be one of those two instead of Karin that she ends up on the beach with strangling is because Tougou and Karin don't have that strong or noticeable of a relationship. So you really would only pairing them together based off of the fact that Karin's most similar to Asuka, which is true. But if we're talking relationships Tougou and Karin don't really have much of one. Maybe that'll change in season 2, especially with the revelation that Karin has Gin's terminal.

I do agree that Yuuna would fit Rei's role, while Sonoko would fit Kaworu's.

Like the other guy said, everything is in the Pastebin. The Second Hero Diary (set just after the anime) kicks off NoWaYu, which is a prequel set in modern times following the first generation of Heroes during the initial Vertex war. It ties into YuYuYu via world building, but also due to the fact that Yuna is one of the Heroes. Who or what she is remains to be seen, time travel seems to be ruled out at this point though so don't let that put you off.

Best way to read NoWaYu is 1-10/11, read the oneshot ShiUYu LN (stopping at 10 is how it was published, but 11 has more of an impact if you read ShiUYu first), then read 12-13, listen to the drama CD, then finish the rest. Sounds complicated, but it's not really. Or if you're not that into it, just read the LN and do everything else afterwards, it won't really spoil it.

He did the typesetting of ch.3 of the NoWaYu manga almost as soon as we got the translation and so did with ch.14 of the LN. He's only been slowing down with both 4-koma and this month's chapter of the LN.

I only sad that the JJ from the last /a/ might had been the real one because he's just a namefag, so anyone could pretend to be him, but there is no proof that he was an imposter either.

I'm not that free myself, only having some weekends to work on this and horrible at cleaning so I'll just paste some text on if it gets too ugly/tedious.

For now I use wild words for spoken text, felt for written text and trashhand for sfx. I can change/add any if you guys think it will look better.

足湯 is read as あしゆ (ashiyu). あし = 'foot'. So the whole thing is "foot bath".

It's either うにゆ (uniyu) or うにゅ (unyu). I think it's onomatopoeia, but I'm really bad with it so I can't be much help here.
