It won't be Ruby. She, or her and RNJR+Qrow are the ones moving the Salem-Ozpin war plot forward. She's also headed away from Atlas. If Weiss meets up with anyone in V4 (rather than forming her own new group with people from Atlas--Ciel? FNKY? 2.0?) it will be Yang (patch is near Atlas already, it's possible Raven will lead her to Atlas) or Blake (The top end of the White Fang is probably still fighting their civil war against the SDC in Atlas, so going after them will lead her up there).

Ruby already knows Weiss' father forcibly took her back home, I can't imagine she's going to suddenly turn around and leave the other three and her quest to find Cinder & Co, and cross the ocean again to help Weiss deal with her overprotective father.

Also keep in mind that with the CCT down, only local communication works. I can't imagine she'll get much news about the others for the time being.

I don't know there's meant to be a time skip, it's possible that RNJR will finished phase one of The Plan and Ruby will fuck off for a bit to bust the Wiess. Maybe the first half of the series will be all four split up doing different stuff, RNJR ranging, Yang recuperating, Blake running from herself and Wiess politicking and plotting.

It's gonna be Mercury that goes rogue if anyone, Emerald is too attached to her Cinder-Senpai. Even if she knows what Cinder's doing is wrong, she still thinks of Cinder as the one who "rescued" her.

Whereas Merc got recruited simply because he had nothing else to do. Emerald already went off on thinking he wasn't needed, and he has one of the darker pasts according to M&K, which means he'll probably be one to get a redemption arc
But I swear to god if Yang and Merc end up being together I will hate this show forever

I do agree with your sentiment. Ruby and Blake have a nonexistent relationship that isn't just assumptions. Yeah it's safe to assume they are close friends, but we never really get to see it outside of chibi.

I know the indie charm of RT is what got RWBY a lot of attention, but the show suffers horribly from low runtime. 10-15 minute episodes just doesn't cut it with a cast this large and a conflict this big. Four major leads is already a tall order for a mainstream production, but Monty seemed to love the idea of going big or going home.

I do agree with you in regards to that time being better used on setting up the relationships of the four leads; I do not believe it would have changed too much in the long run though.

Let's assume the Jaune story arc in volume 1 was replaced with Blake and Ruby getting to know each other instead. Where would the time come for their future interactions?

Blake and Weiss started off as having the most intense relationship of the leads, but after volume 2 it just disappeared. Volume 3 had to dedicate all of its time for internal RWBY dynamics to set up Blake and Yang. Their individual story arcs in volume 3 were all about the other, but it was still barely enough to give weight to their relationship at the end of the volume. Hell, in my personal opinion it only worked because Blake compared Yang to Adam and then he chopped her arm off. Otherwise there really wasn't much to give the status of their relationship in the end the impact it that it had on the audience. This coming from a Bumblebee shipper so I barely needed much to cry over the ending as it was.

The main cast of four adds up to six individual relationships for the writers to consider. Add in side characters and it becomes impossible to give every meaningful relationship the attention it deserves. RWBY is a show that has bitten off way more than it can chew. I applaud the audacity, but there will be more than a few holes in the story before all is said and done.

Not much to report from the RT panel at PAX West. They showed a clip from the next RWBY Chibi, but that's about it. Miles was as nebulous as always about Volume 4.

I did get a chance to briefly talk to him later and he didn't mince words with regards to learning from their mistakes in the previous volumes. Dude was surprisingly humble. In fact, they all seemed like a nice bunch.

Ozpin ultimately wants humanity to thrive and be happy without the fear of Grimm, and he does inhumane things to achieve that goal. Cinder is a vengeful bitch who orchestrated the fall of Vale mostly to stick it up to Ozpin, but she helps taking him down because she realizes that his methods are unsustainable.
Those two lines of greentext are the equivalent of saying that Moby Dick is about a man and his hate for an aquatic animal, that is, ingenuous at best.
How you still call the characters "monsters" just underlines the fact that you haven't gotten that the entire fic is about making hard decisions in a world of black-and-grey morality.

They aren't the writers and everyone should already know long ago that the voice actors have minimal, if any influence on the story direction.

RT panels and events have always been candid and almost dangerously unprofessional. RT is just that kind of company that goofing off and having a good time is more important than worrying about what your fanbase is going to think every time you go to take a piss.

Your comment is fine, but I can't understand any Bumblebee fan that gets impatient, annoyed, or upset with Arryn and Barbs. They just want to connect with the fans that also think Blake and Yang should hook up. They would be just as upset, and in the case of Arryn, almost certainly the most upset, if Bumblebee didn't happen.

Sorry, small misunderstanding here. Your comment and the other comments on here are perfectly fine. It's the other, more rabid fans that get almost violently angry at these two that I have an issue with.
