Their request for a booth at Comiket was denied most likely because they had nothing new to offer. It seems that they are just recycling stuff like the First Series Complete Set and what's happening on @fuguriya1's twitter feed.

There is still a tiny chance that something will be announced in September - I think there was another date this month in that survey that a lot of people voted for. If nothing is announced by then, I say the series is unfortunately toast.

It's such a niche area, that if you look at Japanese releases that were commercial products (instead of doujin activity), in 2012-2016 about half were SH releases. Before that (when SH was just doujin and earlier) they were rarely developed at all.

IIRC it's a branding issue. Mikajyo wants to run away with the SonoHana title from Fuguriya. But there are some agreements with their copyright, so "Maidens of Michael" happened, instead of "SonoHana." But since Miya and Risa are still under Fuguriya, they can't do anything about it. Maidens of Michael was a collab with Mikajyo and Fuguriya.

So there's New Generation, a Mikajyo title.

Well, these are rumors, but they sound plausible imho. With all the change of scenario writers and artists and all that. Fuguriya going into hiatus and such, MangaGamer unable to license maidens and older SonoHana titles.
