Well, that's the chronological order at least.

Considering scanlations of the Saki manga's earlier chapters (pre ch105) are hard to come by, I'd say watch the Saki anime, then read/watch Achiga-hen, then pick up Saki from where the prefectural tournament left off. Once you're done with Achiga-hen, you can pretty much pick up the spin-offs at your leisure as they're both ongoing and flashbacky. Biyori kinda plays on the characteristics of the characters so you'll probably wanna leave that til you're more familiar with them.

There's really no comparison between a dedicated handheld and emulating stuff though. I still pick up GBA and DS games these days because they're more fun the way they were meant to be played.

But the PSP game doesn't require physical buttons. You're just playing mahjong, with different strategies/as different people.

Maybe it is because all the other teams got all their character developments and narrative in short periods of time, but I found Saki and her team as the least interesting team of them all. It's a waste that Ritz creates all these teams with motivations and back stories, only for them to job to Saki and fade to obscurity and minor cameos.

That's why I liked Achiga-hen, I liked that team and I wanted them to win their matches. It's a shame that they will probably ultimately lose to Saki's team. The Toki manga is also looking promising as the Toki-Ryuuka dynamic is much closer than Saki-Nodoka. Saki is so basic but she's op because of plot armor, it sucks her team is the main cast that the story has follow.

The 4 you posted legitimately look fitting. I took a look at the rest of the cast and found half of them are more disagreeable than not. The most unforgivable thing is that they butchered Touka, Hajime, Mihoko, and Momoko.

That is actually a good thing, to be honest, he literally only existed to get Saki to meet Yuuki, Hisa and Nodoka, literally after that Hisa does all the work to get Saki in the club.

One thing I can say is defiantly say we're much better off without those pointless Kyoutaro imagine spots that were added in the anime.

Now if we could just get him to keep fading further into the background, so Yuuki's potential with Kirame can be fully realised.

Yeah, Yuuki sounded weird, although I found it weirder that Yuuki is now the same height as everyone instead of the shortest member in the Kiyosumi team.

Also I'm going to be honest, I feel they really didn't do a good job with Jun's outfit, from looking at the opening, she looks to much like a guy, I mainly have a problem with it, because her breasts are always obvious in the manga, so you she's a girl.

I don't mean dead weight in terms of players I mean in terms of characters. Mako served a bit of a purpose early on with the cafe but other than that she just holds down the fort. Isn't needed for the straight man in jokes, Hisa has someone else to confide in, and Mako's only real interaction with the other teams is that glasses group gag. Her only reason for existing is so that Hisa wasn't alone for a year but Ritz couldn't make anything interesting out of her. You fail when one of your main cast is completely unremarkable.

Also to be completely honest, Mihoko only really exists to flesh out Kanna's backstory, everything in Mihoko's backstory with Hisa could be cut and not matter at all. Basically what I'm saying we only really need Nodoka, Hisa and Saki's opponents for the team storyline. So basically if Mako is dead weight, Mihoko is just as much dead weight.

I don't think it's just her design. Mihoko's relationship backstory with Hisa also feels more romantic to me. Mako stuck by her side for a year when she was all alone, sure, but Mihoko fell in love with her after their first match and stayed that way even after meeting her after so many years.

If Mako's design was cuter and Ritz spent some time exploring her as a rival to Mihoko then I might have been interested in how that love triangle would be resolved. But the way it is right now I don't see Mako as even a contender.

Dear onee-sama, I'm trying to play some mahjong but I really can't understand yaku, except for riichi. I tried to read the list of yaku on wiki but it's too complicated for a newbie like me. Can someone explain me with very simple words what yaku can I use?
For example in pic related, both me (N) and W could ron with the discharge of E but it didn't let me ron because I had no yaku. What is the difference between mine and W's hand? Why has W a yaku and I don't?

My copy of Toki says the last episode of the drama aired on the 25th/27th of December on MBS/TBS and the special on the 8th/10th of January. So is it only 4+1 episodes and the movie is the continuation? Though in the op we see all the characters they won't appear in the TV drama? Also, can they cover the whole match with only one movie?
