There's a big difference between "this character is definitely straight" and "these two characters have no interactions with each other so describing a relationship with them is difficult because there is nothing to draw from". The former most people ignore because, let's face it, there's still a ton of pressure to have straight or at least unknown (and therefore presumed straight) characters and because people have been known to shift sexualities/lie about them, whereas the latter throws a spanner in the works because...where do you go from there that's not just presumption on your part?

In Mei's conversations they are talking how neither of them seem to have aged a day since they last saw one another.

Pharah has something for when she gets rez'd by Mercy's ult, but everyone else does as well. Mercy herself only mentions that Ana wanted Pharah to follow in her footsteps, which Pharah denies ever hearing. You have to remember that Pharah/Mercy is a pairing that came about because they're a great pair gameplay-wise, nothing in lore suggests they've even met yet. Widow/Tracer by contrast have been tacitly supported by Blizzard itself.

Speaking of Pharah's mother, by all accounts Ana was not a caring parent. Might have been too devoted to Overwatch or scarred by the war. I doubt she's Sombra, but we'll see.

As someone who has the most hours in Mercy, they're a great combo because:
1: Pharah ditching losers getting fucked by ground attackers can lead to a Mercy being saved, and being able to rez
2: Mercy in the sky can heal the entire team very effectively, and have an easier escape when shit gets dangerous

I think Talon wouldn't have been sure that would work. Just because of the circumstances of his death, it seemed the only way they could kill him was in a domestic setting which would have been almost impossible for them to get away with, and the relatively short amount of time Amelie had been back from Talon captivity she would be made the prime suspect.
