Thanks for sharing! You've peaked my interest. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any information out there aside from the image/webpage you linked.

Looks like a possible mix of some of the characters/stories we know. While we can't see for sure who has her back turned toward us it would seem it might be Nanoha, but we've also got Tio (Einhart's), and the green ribbons (who normally wears that color?). Its got me curious what it will be about, and if the characters will have the personalities we know.

Most importantly we don't know if it will be yuri-ish or not (with men either non-existent, or insignificant).

That would be okay, I disagree on the Innocent (or GoD etc) anime. PLZ no reboots, no remakes. Such stuff just takes away life from the actually good old works, instead of adding something of value.

Look how for example Dirty Pair is weirded by having a redesigned remake (Flash). And in that case, the remake is even good (which is a problem too, since you can't just write it off as something that never existed).

At one of the Cross Ange events they were doing a thing where different actresses did different characters while the video played live behind them. They were doing the scene where Momoka comes onto the beach to save Ange. Ange is done by Yukarin and Momoka by Nana. When Momoka gets on the beach she takes of the mask and instead of saying "Angelise?" Nana says "...Nanoha?" Yukari does this amazing crying fear sound and then breathes deeply and says "F-fate-chan?" Then the characters run at each other while Nana and Yukari scream "Nanoha!" and "Fate-chan!" The crowd goes fucking wild.

The announcement to ViVid Stirke is hella weird. From the sounding of it, it's not even a sequel. We might be looking at a full on reboot. Considering that the franchise carries itself with the interaction of Nanoha and Fate (until StrikerS, and even then), is it rather telling that both voice actress are unavailable.

I guess it is more ViVid then... I just want more action that means something, has tension (outside of a tournament), has drama, and an enjoyable plot. I hope we get that at least.

Well, they made 2 movies that were more of what people liked the most about the series, and they did very well. And we were going to get a third movie, but who knows what happened with that, perhaps more Yukari shenanigans? So I'd say it's not like they didn't want to keep making more Nanoha in the style that is more favored by the fans (instead of all the spin offs), but that the unknown issues with the third movie and the unpopularity and of Force made it very hard to make something new.

Every fight in Vivid is much more enjoyable because Takuya can at least draw a fight scene.

I don't think the actual individual fights are that important as long s the thrill and suspense of the stakes-plot is there. I had that feeling with Force, which is why I would like to see it finished, even if I disliked the Eclipse weapons and what the story did with the Huckebeins (a lot!).

So, /u/ have managed to create a beloved franchise whose main appeal lies in its two leads and their relationship. Absolutely everything about them works like gangbusters. Why is it a brilliant idea to shift focus away from them and introduce dozens of uninteresting side characters?

Because the only way to rescue a series that jumped the shark is with either a reboot or a retool. The movies could have been the reboot and Innocent the retool, but someone up there stupidly decided that since the shark is already jumped over they might as well see it to the end.

I agree the dozens on uninteresting side character focus is a bad idea. I think it's why a lot of people say StrikerS is the downfall, because it introduced so many new characters at once. I think it would've been fine had they stuck with those characters, though. But Subaru and Tea got sidelined hard, and hell, Sound Stage X barely made an impact on the overall story. It was basically just setup for stuff you assume is going to happen in Vivid but hasn't happened yet (and hell, it could be years before anything substantial will happen).

I would have also been okay with them only focusing on Vivio because I like Vivio, but Vivid isn't that great (better than Force but that's easy to do). It places too much emphasis on the shonen aspects of the series and not enough on the befriending, character-driven aspect. A's was really good because it made you love the entire cast. The general idea of Vivid focusing on the Belka stuff is cool, but the execution involves 50 extra characters that I don't give a shit about, and that's a problem.

This has to be the one most interesting yet flawed thing from StrikerS that I hate. The fact that the organization has very large "left hand, right hand" problems and was rife with corruption was fascinating.... and yet StrikerS neither elaborates on the topic while solving it way too neatly. It is as massive missed opportunity for the franchise, which then (foolishly might I add) seems to be banking it's hopes on ViVid to push it forward when ViVid manages to do absolutely NOTHING.
