I fully believe that it is largely due to her personality more than her age. In comparison to Tracer she comes across as even more childish with her personality and bio. It might be something as shallow as her being not mature instead of her being above the age of consent. It's still pretty silly, it'd just have to be handled differently, though at least Mercy doesn't really look like she's nearly 40 so that would work in their favor.

Mercy as a mother figure to an energetic D.va (probably because Mercy has learned, through Tracer, how to deal with exuberant youngsters) is super cute. Having her double as the team's psychologist would also work. Unless Tracer is imagining past lives, or she actually got shot back several decades, and long enough to receive gainful employment, Amelie's 33 to Lena's 26, so any childhood for Amelie would be infancy for Lena at best.

Although this does provide an excellent breeding ground for AUs where a confused Lena is trying to get back to her time all while dealing with an intrigued and much younger Amelie. Whether or not Lena recognizes her, or whether future Widowmaker recognizes Lena, would change things.

I think I'm going to end up commissioning some art for this since I have yet to come across some. I wonder why it isn't more popular.

Honestly, I don't give a fuck what's canon or not. I'm still gonna ship the girls together. I mean one of the overwatch dudes may or may not have a wife with 2 kids back home, but that's not gonna stop /y/ from drawing him getting butt fucked.

For now, I'm going to enjoy the fact that the characters are so unknown background wise that people are free to let their imaginations go wild.

You girls know that it was brought up in the last thread, right? There's also the possibility of Adult Lena being considered a separate entity by Time in the past so that she could be a maid while babby Lena is doing babby things.

What really needs to be discussed regarding this is, when exactly was she employed as a maid for Amélie's family? Was it when Amélie was a little girl, pre-teen, or teenager? The latter two would work best for any sort love through time with perhaps the a one-off encounter while Amélie's a little girl.

I was imagining that Gerard was filthy fucking rich and he wanted a getaway with his new bride, somewhere safe, so he bought a summer home, complete with a small group of servants, including a confused/possibly amnesiac Ms. Oxton.

Another scenario is that Amelie's family is the one that was rich and that Amelie discovered there was a new maid when she came home from university for the summer. Her parents would say something about finding this poor girl wandering in the woods who seemed confused and had no idea of where she was, was equally confused about current events, but had settled down when she was finally convinced she was suffering from a mental break and needed quiet living to help heal, and how the girl refused to accept charity and decided that she would have to repay them for their kind deeds.

The idea about Lena going through time and running into a younger Amélie, there hasn't really been any new official lore on Tracer. For all that was hinted, Lena being a time-ghost could mean just that and she was immaterial during her episodes.

I'm liking the latter scenario more than Gérard doing a getaway since he probably wasn't rich enough and was busy with Overwatch and looking into that shadowy new player on the global stage.

I don't think people put too much thoughts into Gerard, Blizzard certainly hasn't.

Personally, I don't feel that strongly about shoehorning Tracer into Widowmaker's past, whether it's through time magic or just having known/heard of her normally through Gerard.

I think fresh encounters just leave so much possibilities and imagination to be had. Not that fateful reunions aren't appealing in their own right.

Unfortunately that was doomed to happen since Widowmaker's 7 years older than Lena.

Though I suppose if a writer is feeling confident enough, they could have a fic where Lena somehow forgets her accelerator and gets distracted long enough to get pulled back into time. Back to Amélie's childhood and unlike all the other times she was reverted to being a kid as well since Space got involved with Time.
The real problem with such a thing those would be an order of events Lena had an unexpected presence in. Unless of course Lena and little Amélie meeting was one of the first ones that happened and lead to Amélie shyly and chastely kissing that silly English girl.

Unless you mean a time paradox? I dunno, I figure just plain interacting with people at all would be enough to spawn one. I never quite understood how seeing someone counts as a paradox just because they become aware of what's happened.

Jeez, now there's a thought: we've already got the potential for Widowmaker to be harboring memories of Amelie, what of Tracer harboring memories of herself as a sort of fly on the wall? She could flit in and out of time and the memories of it in and out of her head, giving her a strange sense of intuition with people without knowing why, as well as a connection to Widowmaker in that she, alone, is experiencing something that Widowmaker is also experiencing. And it gives her a reason to be affronted by Widowmaker's behavior without wanting to kill her, just stop her, and why she's cheeky instead of hateful: she bears memories of Amelie, whether or not they ever met before Widowmaker was made.

There's a very rough one out. It's not so much the crisis that's hard to keep track of, it's the 20 or 25 years after the crisis leading to the present that is hard to keep track of.

Roughly it's;
Original Crisis - 30 years pre-game
Omnica Corp sold the world an autonomous labor force that would bring in a new age.
It was discovered that they cut horrendous corners in the name of profiteering and they were forcibly dismantled and their Omniums shut down.
Some time later the Omniums started back up on their own, most likely due to God Programs, and started churning out war machines that lead to them trying to wipe out humanity for no real stated reason. Struggling against an inhuman enemy the World's government discovered some success with a highly competent strike team going in and disabling the link between the God Programs and the omnics on the field. Leading to the original Overwatch team which consisted of Gabriel Reyes, Jack Morrison, Ana Amari, Liao, Reinhardt Wilhelm, and Torbjörn Lindholm.

Because of their team, humans were able to win the Crisis view putting most of the God Programs into a dormant state and effectively putting the Omniums out of comission. They were also so well liked as a group and were still seen as Heroes that they were promoted to being a global peacekeeping agency ala SHIELD with Jack Morrison being designated as the leader because he wasn't a chicano like Reyes.

The years following is where it gets more confusing because you have so many events that happen within roughly two 'n' a half decades and it's kind of smarter to everyone's ages to make a timeline. If people are interested I'll work on writing up a very rough timeline based on events that give a better idea of what happened Post-Crisis and up until OW's collapse and the Game being treated as the present.
