All the maids have to go through a 'training' period with the MC before they can do other stuff. There are also a number of sex scenes with the MC that are automatically triggered when the maids reach certain stat levels.
So unless they change the game mechanics for the yuri maid class, which I find unlikely, there's going to be a whole bunch of unpleasant stuff to work through.

You don't seem to understand how the game works.
You make a maid. That maid has classes available determined by her stats and won contests. Skills unlock based on class level. Class level increases by lewd stuff. Stats increase by day (SFW) and night (NSFW) activities.
You can schedule several NSFW activities per night based on stamina. So you can have a maid get fucked silly and the next scheduled action is yuri stuff. Or you can just do yuri stuff (assuming you have it unlocked, which unlocks on a maid-to-maid basis)

None of them have het. PP has a genderless self-insert and is a pretty crappy game otherwise so you should avoid that and the Noire game has a male self-insert that is extremely annoying and has way too much screentime so you probably want to pass on that too.
The other games have nothing to be concerned about, although U and Blanc game are a bit short, but totally worth it if you get them on sale.

I watched the anime and tried playing the first Re:birth game on Steam but had to give up because it was terrible.

Yeah, it's definitely worth the price. There's tons of content, a bunch of new and/or changed gameplay mechanics, and the graphical upgrade is immense.
Also be sure to get the big DLC characters, they're really good and have a bunch of yuri stuff.

So, now that VII has been out on PC for a while, what's the consensus?

From what I've heard so far, the yuri is as inconsistent as ever and the gameplay is still the same old passable system with a few small additions.

So what about the story? Or the humor?
Is there anything else this game is really worth playing for?

I think that question came up 5 times in this thread already.
Anyway it's a great game with lots of humour. The story is actually interesting this time, the graphical updates are amazing compared to the previous games and it's thoroughly fun to play. There is the usual subtext between the girls although there is arguably a bit more. If you want an actual confession you need to wait on the Blanc game.
I think it's one of the best entries in the series and if you enjoyed any of the other games it's certainly worth it.

There's plenty of yuri, both subtextual and blatant. K-sha and Million Arthur are among the gayest characters in the franchise.
Gameplay wise, there's been quite a bit of changes, much more than between the Rebirths. The combo system has been completely redone, for example. Also the graphical improvements are massive, screenshots don't really do it justice.
The story is pretty good, and the new characters are well done. And the game's multi-part format gives a lot more characters some spotlight time.
I've been enjoying it a lot so far, currently on second playthrough to get the other ending. Sure, there are a couple of the new mechanics that I'm not a fan of, but overall it's a good step forward for the series, and definitely worth it.

I started playing VII and I have some concerns so far about any "yuri" in it. I like the character interactions between Nepgear and Uzume so far, but during one of the scenes Neptune's talking about how she didn't think Nepgear would be "wooed" by the same gender and that Nepgear says she is just embarrassed. Do they do this avoiding thing of yuri throughout the game?

I'm a bit ahead of you, but haven't finished the game. There's a character that likes Noire romantically but it is kind of one sided. Blanc has another character going for her too. But just as you said, other than Noire's case, the game intentionally avoid crossing the line.

If you're hungry for rpg with yuri, I just played 7th Dragon 3 for the 3ds and it has plenty, although your character gender isn't mentioned. It doesn't have a lot of romance going like Fates, but I'm not so sure since I never married of any of the girls.

Well I liked Neptunia because of the implied yuri and its semi-decent RPG elements. However, this game just seems to border on the girls-like-guys and are shocked at the thought of same sex romance. Especially with Uzume and Umio, and Uni and robot ninja. I mean the game is fine, but UniGear was my #1 ship and I was disappointed to see how much of her time is taken up by Steamax instead of Nepgear.

Trying to troll this thread won't do anything at this point, everyone knows how far steamax got into this or more like how far he didn't, the time Uni had with Nepgear was lower but more significant, mostly because her time with Nepgear wasn't for jokes to show how Uni isn't interested like it was with Steamax. Nobody was shocked, Neptune was teasing Nepgear, that is her thing, she does it to everyone, Neptune herself knows Nepgear belongs to Uni anyway and Neptune was even pleased with the crush Cheekama had on Million Arthur. I finished the game yesterday, and its true this game has less yuri subtext/situations, but the story is far better than the previous games. looks like there is no time for yuri gags

also Uzume is a great and deep character compared to the other "news" goddess
