I'm reading Octave. It's really good, but the translation is sketchy. Where would I find raws for stuff?

There's this "zasha" dude or dudette that has been doing yuri for some time (mostly Idolmaster yuri). It might insterest someone here; most of their work is untranslated, except for one Idolmaster full color doujin about the idols cosplaying cops, and almost all of it is h-focused. Exhentai holds at least one original story.

They've done plenty of single yuri pictures on pixiv and the like too, so this seems like a dedicated yuri artist.

I re-read the story and it's referencing episode 28. Ichigo is the soft-shelled turtle clinging/chasing the moon (Mizuki). The story ends with Ichigo finally caught up to Mizuki, but then Ichigo started to "consume" Mizuki.

This is the last line from the doujin:

People translating something most likely want to read the thing in question themselves. I can't imagine many would want to deal with terribly LQ scans or watermarks. I know I'd never bother with anything like that anyway.

清水 can't be read Isao. Shimizu is what I would choose, it's how I've always seen that name pronounced.

Names I either look up in character introduction, series website or something related to the series online, or if all else fails, google the name + 読み方 or something and then guess.

This is what makes translation an art and not just substituting words. She says her family name in the first frame and then repeats it with her family name + her given name in the second frame. This works fine in Japanese, but works awfully in English. In other words, she's clarifying the full name just so that there's no confusion.

Direct tl is something like: Are you... and Andou-san, that is... Andou Rei-san... a couple.

I would translate the entire page as:
Are you and Andou-Rei-san a couple?
you can put whichever words you want in whichever bubble you want.

わたしのかわいいお人形さん is the title of this doujinshi and while it literally means "My cute doll-san," the story is about Sora toying with Sumire while drugged. How about I change it to "My adorable plaything"? because it's more fitting, in my opinion. I'm open for suggestions, as well.

Personally, I tend to drop honorifics when referring to things that aren't people.
For example, in that PriPara doujin I previously TL'd, I translated 小鳥ちゃん as "little birdie" despite just calling Sophie "Sophie-san". Considering how Sora refers to Sumire as "being like a doll" later on when she's all mind-broken and shit, I think "doll" would be more appropriate than just "plaything".

I chose 'problem' b/c it's less stilted sounding and since she talks rather informally, I thought it sounded more natural. Also, I wasn't saying that she was gonna stay home UNTIL her leg healed. I knew she was talking about walking home with her and then coming back for club. It's problematic. It's incovenient. they basically mean the same thing in this instance. "Inconvenient" is technically correct, too, I just thought "problem" sounded better.

Where I'm from, sending someone home has two meanings. One is walking/driving that person home, the other to send them on their way. If this isn't widely accepted then use walk them home. In your sentence, it sounds like she'll just take her home once on that day itself. Nothing about the days after.

With that said, I /need/ a capable editor/QC'er for this.

I'm trying to avoid translation cliches like "stirring up my insides" and the editor must have experience in writing lewd dialogue. Script is 90% done and the only things left to do is translating each and every one of those lewd SFX. We currently cleaned half of the scans.

It's entirely up to preference, really. If you end up becoming a translator, then chances are you'll add the honorifics. In my case I don't use honorifics in any way at all because, again, preference. Now there are instances when honorifics are part of something that are unavoidable, but there are workarounds.

Otome in Aikatsu! calls her friends with the -tan honorific and removing does eliminate the character's shtick, but you can always work around it. In my case I just fuse -tan with the name (Ran-tan to Rantan) and consider it as a nickname. Sorta similar to -cchi (Nonocchi). Anyway, that's my point of view.
