I have a question about these games. I tried the Kindred Spirits demo and I just couldn't get through it. It was essentially like I was trying to read a manga but I had to continuously click and there weren't as many expressions. Is it the same kind of thing throughout for all of these? Can someone tell me what they like about these games (besides the yuri)?

Yes, it's basically the same kind. Don't think of it as a game, at least not a "game" in the American sense.

It's a Visual Novel. It's about enjoying the story the art, and the voice acting; and in the Sono Hanabira series, it's also about enjoying the Yuri elements.

If you like Yuri stuff, definitely try it, I would start with the 3rd game with Reo x Mai. I got introduced to the series, visual novel, and the Yuri world from the Reo x Mai OVA, so that's also where you can start.

To expand on it, what I like about the Sono Hanabira series over Kindered Spirits are:
1. SH has less drama
2. SH's story line is more lovey-dovey and has a lot more ero scenes
3. SH is focused on one couple per game/route - doesn't jump around
4. SH is fully voiced
5. SH has better art
6. SH series has a lot more games, as well as OVA, drama CD, novels - stuff to keep you going when you get hooked on it.

So SH is more relaxing and more enjoyable. Definitely worth the try.

LiLyCle Rainbow Stage also announced a delay a couple of days ago (from 3/25 to 4/28) apparently because the writer missed the deadline for getting tokuten short stories ready. The first game and the second one are the worst games in the series by far. So if you liked them you'll probably enjoy the others too (Not saying that Nanami/Yuuna or Kaede/Sara bad couples though).

The best game in the series are 11/12/13 of the main series (all of them unstranlated though) and the most popular translated games on /u/ are 3rd, 8th and the Risa/Miya game that was published om steam some time ago.

MangaGamer's convention schedule and annoucements have been updated to 3/25 - 3/27 for Anime Boston. There's a very good chance a Sono Hanabira VN will be picked up because of the survey turn out that was dished out to everyone this year.

If you don't know what twitter is by now, you should start using it because MangaGamer will probably release lots of live annoucements on there while at the convention. That's what they did last year, especially for Remembering How We Met, Kindred Spirits, and The Shadows of Pygmalion.

According to the MangaGamer website, there will be two announcements that day. There's a good chance that one of them will be a new licensing of some game in the current Sono Hanabira series - and that's probably why they combined the result for the poll - so they could say "we listened to our customers."

But, unfortunately, there's almost a 100% probability that no new addition to the original Sono Hanabira series will be announced, just more official translations of existing ones.
