While writing my paper, I thought up Tomoko's dog girl yuri adventure. So here's how it goes.

Ch 1 - Lolidom cousin looks up dog training materials for the next visit. Gets Tomoko into dog ears and tail, resorts to corporal punishment via whip, and both she and Tomoko get turned on. Cousin feels pretty good about life, Tomoko gets scarred for life.

Ch 2 - Tomoko pisses off Delinquent in some new creative way, when delinquent physically retaliates, Tomoko's dog response kicks into gear. Delinquent, in a diabetes-fueled frenzy, takes Tomoko home. Tomoko then assumes a wide variety of ridiculous things, notably including that she has to please Delinquent or she'll end up in concrete. Delinquent's pure pure heart can't deal with it, any of it, and she passes out. Tomoko knocks herself out trying to escape through the window headfirst, but wakes up bathed, clothed, and inextricably snuggled.

Ch 3 - The two girls who like her brother learn about dog Tomoko, and decide they could use their newfound power over her to their advantage. They all end up in the brother's room and, uh, something about a strapon and making Tomoko dress like her brother, I forget what I was thinking, but whatever it was, it was probably not very interesting. All I know is glasses thinks of the idea, then kouhai rises to the challenge.

Ch 4 - Emoji goes off the deep end, somehow transitions from abusing dog Tomoko into ridiculous dere lovemaking. Both parties leave confused.

Extras - Yuu, teacher, and mom would all be great but I've got insufficient imagination. Each of the 4 chapters could have a afterstory, 1. getting to be a NEET but as cousin's pet (BAD END) 2. delinquent dresses them both up in frilly outfits and holds hands with her (HELL END) 3. two girls forget why they started their regular orgies (IDIOTS END) 4. everyday married life with emoji (NO REALLY WHO IS THIS GIRL END)

Now, I don't remember all the details of this daydream, but I do remember there being a lot of piss. Watersports is actually a pretty huge turnoff for me, but for some reason at the time I felt it was only right that Tomoko would have to drink a lot of people's piss. If I had to guess, it'd be the cousin for obvious reasons, and delinquent to bring her embarrassment meter to overload.

Man, the more I think about this, the more this seems actually consistent with the characters. What a fucked up setting for this shit to not seem too out of place.

No love for the tomo/sensei superior pairing? Sensei gets mad at Tomoko's in class distractions and starts trying to put her in the right path by getting get to socialize. Sensei has also been encouraging tomo to get in better shape. Sensei's wink was basically her checking off one of the last remaining boxes on her capture perquisites: meet her mother.

Sensei is the unsung hero who'll eventually pluck the fruit once it ripens.

it's hard to say whether that's the case or not. tomoko's entire identity is a mess, and I actually tend to interpret the way she views women as influenced somewhat by her prolific 2ch usage. She's influenced by what she sees the most, so she internalizes her thoughts towards women in much the same way that your average *chan user would, but the lust seems like it's getting more and more real. and iirc watamote's written by a woman, which lends a little bit more credence towards tomoko's behaviors not exactly reflecting that of the average straight guy, even if not much.

the manga probably won't end with her getting with anyone, but the more I read of the more recent chapters, the more convinced i am that she's not straight, whether or not that'll actually be addressed is another issue entirely, though. this is just my shitty interpretation, though

there is an ova with a tiny yuri-bait scene, but then switches over to the rest of the ova with a male love interest.

now the manga is a different story, as some of the images posted here should tell you. Since the anime is a very close adaption, the first half of the manga is obviously the same as the anime, but the second half and ongoing has more female characters with more subtext and a bit more positive things happening to tomoko(of course with a lot of depressing things as well, this is watamote after all)

meaning, if you just watch it for /u/ you will be severely disappointed. If however you enjoy it in other ways, then a bit of /u/ will be presented as a side gift as well.

Actually, I think the anime ended when the series was just getting good. I had a VERY similar high school experience to Tomoko, so I did get a laugh at the cringe, but at the same time I wanted to not only see her grow, but interact with her classmates and show what her classmates thought about her. The show ended her first year, leaving with her running home and declaring, "It doesn't matter!" It was the second year that more people actually try talking to her, and the results are making for a much better manga. There's still some cringe, like Tomoko berating Emoji for being a virgin, but with more characters joining in it feels like Tomoko is actually growing as a character and something may come of the series after all.
