The character animation is pretty gorgeous, and other elements did capture a part of my overall interest. I'm watching all the yuri/possible yuri shows for winter season, but I will only be picking a choice handful of het/non-yuri series. I've yet to decide which ones. This will also depend on who is getting the streaming licenses for them.

I got an Android tablet for Christmas, and it can't play the Yuri Complete Collection bunch of clips we had achieved here. I've tried a number of different players from the play store with no luck. Anyone know of a good Android video player that will play all the clips in that collection, or barring that perhaps a good batch converter that would successfully convert all those files to a format the basic players could handle without problem? To make up for the trouble I'll post a lot of Yuri images later today....

Yes, if the players themselves were functioning fine but the videos didn't work then it's most likely a codec issue.
I've skimmed the collection and they're all Xvid and DivX AVIs (or videos from that era of fansubbing) so MX Player should work. Normally the codec is included with the player apk though...

No luck. It still has the same problem playing videos. If the videos start playing they quickly experience visual corruption, the progress bar continues on (as does the sound), and the video stays at the corrupted frame. Any other suggestions?

The same problem occurs with hardware decoding unchecked, and SW checked for local. It seems to happen with the yuri clips, but nothing else I've tested so far. For example I tested with full anime episodes (ex: HorribleSubs sub of One Piece episodes, Underwater subs of Saki episodes, and also tested YouTube videos streaming from the YouTube site, and haven't noticed any problems with those which also seem to be suggestive of codec related issue(s).

Tech Support (both the board here at 4chan, and elsewhere) are not interested in trouble shooting "porn" clip problems. Since the troublesome files are /u/ related in content I thought perhaps people here had encountered the issue(s) before, and might know a workaround/fix to share hence why I posted here in the first place.

If anyone has any additional suggestions or tests let me know, and I'll give them a shot.

I tried converting the video file, and depending on where I convert it, and what I convert it to it looks like that will get the videos playing correctly (so it appears that the native codec formats of those files are the issue). As a test I used "Any Video Converter" to convert to an "HTC Flyer MPEG-4 Movie(*.mp4)" with a x264 video codec, copied it over to the tablet, and ran it in MX Player without the video problem. The only problem(s) I noticed with the converted video file was that the aspect ratio of the video had changed (the new video had enlarged and cut off parts of the video including cutting half the subtitles), and the file was also larger in size (for the file I tested it went from 7mb to 12mb). I tried three video converters from within Android ("Video Converter" by aKingi org, "Video Converter Android" by roman10, and Video Converter Android 2" by rierie501), but all of them still played the converted videos with the same problem (so never converted them correctly). Think I'll probably have to convert all of them on my pc, and then copy the converted files to the tablet.

Anyone have a recommended video converter, and/or recommended settings to use in said converter?

For more control there is Avidemux. It might be overkill, but it has a lot of options for output and processing. You could experiment to see what profiles display properly on your tablet.

When using h264 as encoder you can set it to 2 pass average bit rate (bit rate should be a little higher than input video) to let it decide the quantiser automatically. This should give you videos that are roughly equal in size to the inputs. For even stricter size control there's 2pass target file size that decides both quantiser and bitrate.

I'd recommend .mp4 or .mkv for container. If you're getting rid of old encoding type might as well use new container type to be safe.

Thanks for the suggestions. I recalled people recommending handbrake years ago, and last night I downloaded and converted all the files using it (while I was sleeping) unfortunately it didn't work as the problem still exists in the new videos. I'll have to experiment with different settings including the higher that source bit rate and mp4 as containers to see if those help (think I'd already selected the mp4 container option).
