Holy mother of flying fuck, actual plot, and not just important characters making vague references to plot. This could actually be the best episode in the entire show. Is this the potential we've been waiting two and a half seasons for? Could it be that RWBY can do a 180 and become good?

We don't know how strong Raven is, and Raven completely failed to actually stop Neo or prevent her escape. Neo simply retreated when an unexpected event occured and she was facing an opponent of unknown strength and power. Really, the smart thing to do.

Also I highly doubt Cinder cares about Raven being around. She didn't seem to consider Qrow much of a threat to her current stage of planning, and she was more than comfortable taking Glynda head on. She is seeding animosity. Grimm feed on and are attracted to negative emotion, now there is a ton of it surrounding the tournament.

She is putting continually more pressure on the brotherhood, not worrying about someone's mom showing up to stop her plans. This is also why she's probably going to do something similar with Penny during that fight, making things even worse, and taking down Ironwood in the process.

Summer could have intentionally gotten herself killed so no one could steal her power, and Cinder/whoever wouldn't be able to know that it was passed to Ruby until it manifests in her.

Also the implication seemed to be that the brotherhood was aware of where the other seasons are, and nothing has happened to them yet--and if she was a season, why wouldn't they pull her down with Pyrrha to tell her about it? They're desperate enough to try experimental, untested aura stealing technology on Pyrrha, but don't want to get Ruby, who is just a couple years younger involved? Even though she is skilled for her age and would have the season power naturally?

I don't think Summer was a season. I think if anyone has the potential to be a season, it's Yang, as someone pointed out above, Raven's abilities might very well be a manifestation of Season power. And being a season would explain why she's staying completely hidden from the world, even as the brotherhood is gathering their strength.

Like I said, I'm 95% sure that Summer was not a season. You girls are focusing way too much on her name being Summer.

If she was a season, her powers would already be with Ruby/Yang, and they would have been brought in with Pyrrha to learn the truth. Names =/= being a season, just look at Winter, she clearly isn't a season since they haven't even allowed her into the inner circle. Cinder's name is just a coincidence, why would she change her name to let everyone who ever meets her know her plan? And by the same logic, why would Summer be named Summer if she were the Summer season? That kind of blatantly defeats the entire point of the seasons being hidden from the public view.

I think I like Yang with short hair because it fits with her personality, maybe not that style of short hair, but the idea. She has that same happy-go-lucky personality that Ruby does. She shouldn't have a childish hairstyle like Ruby, but maybe a shoulder-length wavy bob or something.
Given Weiss' strong "heiress" vibe I feel like she shouldn't ever have short hair, even the ponytail seems too kiddish to me. She still looks good with it though.

Maybe shoulder-length would look good on Yang. I just like that Yang is very much a tomboy but is girlish in that she has long hair and is proud of it. I think it would make sense for her to have short hair because she's a tomboy, but I think I like it better that she doesn't fit into that cookie-cutter version of a tomboy. I get what you are saying, but there is no evidence of it.

Just because Neo's illusion shattered once doesn't mean it absolutely has to shatter anytime she's using one and it gets hit. She uses an illusion at the very beginning of her fight against Yang on the train to redirect a hit and knock Yang back, and there is no shatter. She uses an illusion to escape the train when Raven shows up, and it doesn't shatter, it dissolves into a flash of light.

So I don't see why, when we already have a character who we know has the ability to make people see what isn't actually there (as we saw in Neo's very first appearance)--you'd assume that when people are seeing things that aren't actually there again, it's the power of a completely different character who has never been shown to have any connection to illusions.

It seems pretty clear to me that Neo is just sitting in the stands screwing with both the doubles and singles fights.

Yeah double checked and there are entire shots that didn't exist in the original.

For example at the start, instead of roman and thugs walking out of the shadows and just stopping, they now have a lengthy walk down the street where shadow people move nervously out of the way and they move around all intimidating and crap.

The animation on Ruby and Glynda's capes when fighting Cinder on the rooftop also seem to have been stepped up to look more appropriate with the wind from the VTOL.

Your missing the point, I don't care if the stories are in greentext or whatever format, just the stories themselves piss me off the great extent. I hate stories about Neo turning Yang into her bitch, I'm incredibly pissed off at Cinder and her little posse right now, and White Rose has basically interwoven itself into my soul at this point so anything about Ruby or Weiss falling for anyone else makes me incredibly uncomfortable at the very least. Sorry, the whole thing with Yang at the end of that episode triggered the hell out of me, and I've been kind of having a weird time because of it.

I don't think people disliked monochrome because of the ship itself. It was because tumblr, in its infinite retardation, produced art for it that was primarily black and/or futa Blake. The exception (sort of) was dashingicecream, who instead made both of them extremely OOC.

After all, there's just as much man-yang BB art around as there is black Blake (more, honestly), and realistically, that's worse, at least for me. I'd rather have dark-skinned yuri than see "yuri" pictures where one of the "girls" looks like a lumberjack. Leo and Kuma are just as OOC as Dashing, so I don't think that factors in at all.

I don't know if you spent a lot of time going through RWBY content on tumblr, but there was a fuckton of futa and black Monochrome vs. futa/black BB or WR, or any other ship. Monochrome was especially notorious for futa/black Blake on tumblr at least. I'm not sure when it started or ended, but it was definitely quite prevalent and was discussed in early threads. Pic related is probably why a lot of people dislike/d Monochrome -- so many pics had elements of this. At least some of the art was pretty good in all fairness, but understandably it wasn't very favorable received on /u/ and Monochrome experienced a heavy backlash because of >tumblr

I'll admit, I have a fondness for WR, but I've got a ridiculous soft spot for Entire-Team-Together (which...somehow doesn't have a ship name? I vote Scheduling Issues, because The Gentle Art of Making Enemies is the only fic I can think of that includes it).

Headless Weiss is a recurring thing in the edgier Falling Petals images - normally involving Ruby killing Weiss either out of Yandere or for her Cinder-sempai. I don't have any of them saved, for good reason.

Wasn't most of the dislike apparent during v2? As terrible as this guess is, it might've had something to do with the anons making up the thread not realizing that a character can be used in multiple ships, without a single repercussion because it's largely fiction.

I love White Rose and really dislike Monochrome, but other ships that involve Ruby or Weiss don't bother me at all.

I guess I also feel a little resentment for the pairing of Ruby and Cinder but I think that's because it always involves Ruby being brainwashed/mindbroken, which is really not my thing.

It's basically the designated contrarian pair of the series. Which is why so much Monochrome art tend to have drastically altered appearances for Blake, from flatout furry Blake to African American Male Blake, and even occasionally Weiss as well, changing someone who is suppose to look delicate and fair into some evil Disney stepmom with angular chins and pointy noses.

Monochrome fans are a very strange and troubled group of youths.

Nice generalization. I don't mind other pairings and while I don't support the drastically altered appearances myself--since tumblr will always be tumblr--the reason I like Monochrome is because of the forbidden angle that's commonly interpreted in their relationship. Heiress to a large, influential company and a previous member of a once peaceful civil rights group turned terrorist organization? Both have lost people to each other because of their sides' warfare, and both eventually learn to grow past that (and learn about themselves too in the process).

To me, that's far more interesting than the tried and tired Tsundere/Genki or Shut-In/Party Girl, even if all three are fairly standard or cliche. Although I'll be honest that Ruby's overall childishness puts me off as well as the immature behavior of some vocal WR/BB shippers who can't seem to ignore and go about their business whenever they see a pairing that they don't like.

I love WR, but Ladybug is also a ship I like. Thanks Remnant's Reclaimer It's cute and has its own great fics and pics. The only ships I can't stand is when one of the WR couple are paired in het ships, ie Jaune x Ruby or Weiss, and obvious worst ship. and Fallen Petals because brainwashing and manipulation.

I can definitely see why that could be discouraging.
I actually dislike certain artists because they take her personality a little too far in that direction, like they're de-aging her or something.

It doesn't bother me that Weiss and Ruby don't have a very complex friendship, though. I guess I just find it charming that Ruby, a girl who clearly has lots of friends, has picked someone with such an abrasive personality like Weiss to be her best friend. From that, it's easy for me to extrapolate that the reason Ruby wants to put up with this girl in particular is because she's got a crush on her. It's stupid teenage love at its finest.
