Woody used to be a hard-drinking, no nonsense sheriff who ruled through fear rather than instilling a sense of community in the toys. One day he received a call for help when the smallest babushka doll was captured by a large, webless spider. Woody took aim at the spider and missed because he was drunk, killing the babushka doll.
