I know this show is really popular, but all the main characters are little fucking kids.

Would a 27-year old enjoy it? Should I try watching it.

I hate kids.
>>
yes.

I don't think you'd enjoy it. you sound like a cunt.
>>
Probably not. It's target audience are teenagers who think they were born in the wrong generation.
>>
its okay. extremely derivative but okay
>>
>>87660332

My sister is 33 years old and enjoys this show, she understand film but still has pleb taste.
>>
If you can still enjoy things without pissing and moaning at every little thing then you'll enjoy it.
>>
Im 27 and I liked it.
And I don't like many ongoing shows.
I only watch GoT, TP and Narcos.
>>
>>87660332
I'm a 27 year old and I like it.
I watched it for the first time when I was only 26 though.
>>
Im 25 and i loved it
Not even am*rican so the "nostalgia" factor didnt work for me
>>
>>87660332
It's basically The Goonies directed by John Carpenter, but it somehow turned out like shit.
>>
>>87660332
This series is aimed towards the following audiences:
>35-40-somethings with 80's nostalgia
>20-30-somethings that wanted to have nostalgia for the 80's
>underage girls and losers fans of Stephen "The Hack" King

It's comfy

All three of them were absolute shit. Stranger Things would have been much, much better without the kids.

Legion had an awful plot but decent acting, and the OA was just fucking ridiculous. Probably the most ridiculous finale I've ever seen.

28 btw

Being derivative is probably it's biggest strength, desu. It's so derivative that it's more of a time capsule than a knock-off.

I think it's biggest flaw is that it's too vague with it's plot. I can definitely see it suffering from Lost-itis unless its writers make some solid story commitments this upcoming season.
>>
>>87660332
Hardly. It's built around nostalgia for 80s movies. Tards born in the 90s would hardly understand.
>>
>>87661245
I thought it was odd how many people had an issue with the show trying to "cash in on 80s nostalgia". I don't remember the 80s and nothing in the show felt forced to me just for nostalgia points. That was just the time the show was set in.

Just like Boardwalk Empire isn't trying to cash in on nostalgia of the 1930s, it's just a time setting.
>>
>>87661529
If you were actually born in the 80s you'd know kids born in the 90s still watched 80s action movies on VHS or television. Movies had a much longer shelf life back then.
>>
>>87661704

>>

Being born in the 80's has no impact on whether you'd enjoy this. Much more 18 year olds watch it then 40 year olds.
>>
>>87661913
>people 7 years younger than you are watching the same thing

lol ok, washed up loser
>>

>anime website
Hah, argument invalidated. Good job, kiddo.
>>
>>87660332
It all comes down to this: can you watch The Goonies today and enjoy it? If you can, then go for it.

I don't like Goonies. It's loud and the kids are annoying. I saw the first episode of ST and dropped the show. I just can't deal with kids as protagonists. At least in It they were bearable.
>>
>>87662003
Be honest anon. Did you wait until you were 18 to watch action movies? You didn't sneak a peek of Commando at age 10?
>>
>>87662106
>adolescent nature of the posts
Have you seen this site called facebook? The "nature" of the posts is far, far more "adolescent" and the average age of the active users on that site is probably over 40 these days. You're simply overestimating humanity if you think crass jokes are exclusive to teenagers.
>the fact it's an anime website
Haha nice try moot.

Danm, I would be a shit parent I guess.

I would let a 10-year old see 'IT'. I was actually surprised it wasn't pg-13.
>>
>>87662263
>parents doing their job is determined by what sort of television they show their kids.
Literal state of burger parenting.

But let me ask you this: when you finally did start watching action movies, did you not see movies that had already come out? Movies on television? Or did you strictly stick to movies released after that date? Because when I think of my childhood favourite movies they were old 5-10 years old by the time I first saw them.
>>
>>87662339
More like: Parents preventing children from being exposed to age inappropriate material is indicative of them doing their job. You also seem to be conflating action movies with R movies.
>>
>>87662000
If you watch all of the original Lost in Space television show I will respect your opinion.
>>
>>87662638
Weren't most action movies like Scwarzenegger or Stallone etc. R-rated? Anyway who gives a shit, have you ever actually checked the age rating of a movie before watching it?
>Parents preventing children from being exposed to age inappropriate material
How are you going to stop an 8 year old from watching VHS tapes? Oh I forgot, in America you aren't allowed to leave the house unsupervised until you turn 18 lmao.

>How are you going to stop an 8 year old from watching VHS tapes?
By enduring the person who is in charge of the child understands what you deem inappropriate as a parent. You're acting like being a responsible parent is akin to being a unicorn. Sorry your parents were shit at their job, bro. Don't go having kids. The world doesn't need more of you. And not just because you're from some second world country. :^)

My parents taught me to read and write by age 3 and drove me to any activity I could imagine. It's sad to see you're so accustomed to the idea of television being in charge of parenting that to you parenting is just picking which TV shows to allow.

And no, I didn't get permission to watch Mortal Kombat VHS's as a 7 year old, but I had this thing your childhood probably lacked, friends. Helicopter parenting your child is a US invention, not the standard. And you being too afraid to watch content rated above your age just makes you a low T pushover, not a well parented child. Sorry.

>It's sad to see you're so accustomed to the idea of television being in charge of parenting
I already explained to you why your perception is backward. Go back and read it again if you're having trouble.
>And no, I didn't get permission to watch Mortal Kombat VHS's as a 7 year old, but I had this thing your childhood probably lacked, friends.
Your parents failed in their duty of care.
>Helicopter parenting your child is a US invention
You're obsessed. Maybe if all the good genetics from your country hadn't emigrated to mine, you wouldn't have to feel so bad about being from a nation of people playing second fiddle on the world stage. You even have to come to our websites for validation/attention.
>And you being too afraid to watch content rated above your age just makes you a low T pushover, not a well parented child. Sorry.
Why would I be sorry about the invalid opinion of someone whose parents did care enough? It's like you never grew out of the stage where you think people are cool from breaking the rules. Pathetic.
>>
>>87663244
You don't go to youtube for the avatars. You need to work on your apples to apples comparisons instead of being intellectually dishonest, like a gypsy.
>>
>>87663400
>It's like you never grew out of the stage where you think people are cool from breaking the rules. Pathetic.
Where is cool mentioned? Of course a 26 year old me doesn't think a 7 year old should watch murderporn, and of course a 7 year old me is going to watch it.
>Your parents failed in their duty of care.
Says the guy whose helicopter parents hand picked which shows he could watch until he was legally an adult lmao. You do realize that less personal freedom doesn't make for better parents, right?

Also what is your personal role in world politics? Because unless you have one pretending you're important because you happen to live in a large country is like pretending you're good at sports because your town's team won the championship. You don't play any fiddles, son.
>>
>>87661838
Then get off your ass and do something about it now. The longer you wait thinking life is going to get better the harder it is to actually make it better once you realize it is on you.
>>
>>87663302
yes. I actually somewhat enjoyed the show. but that ending was the most cringeworthy thing I've ever seen. You kind of knew something like that was coming from the later episodes. I liked the first half of the show though.
>>
>>87663239
I was 22 when I first saw it and it's so heartwarming I actually cried during some scenes. Watch it.
>>
>>87660332
I watched one episode. The writing was so terrible that I dropped it

>>
>>87660332
Do you hate movies starring kids? If you do then you probably won't like it. I enjoy the occasional movie starring kids. Kinda like how the old south park episodes where they act like kids and go on adventures are some of my favorites.

I also didn't see any 80's movie it took influence from other than ET, and even then that was probably 20 years. So I had no nostalgia glasses.I'm 28.
