Something about artistic, surreal space-kino in the world of Star Wars is just so attractive. Same can be said about something like 2001 meets Planet of the Apes.

It's the only thing I want from Disney. A Palpatine-centric story that plays out when the OT is going on or similar, with cuts back to when he was younger.

It honestly would have been really terrible. Just look at what Dune became.

Lynch is kind of a one-trick-pony, and is best at making superficially "surreal" or abstract films but has no skill in making anything of value or substance. Don't get me wrong, I like Lynch's movies for what they are, but nobody can deny that he hides behind this 2deep4u facade simply because he is incapable of doing so otherwise.
