We already got some weird stuff in this one, with the unloaded bolt gun shooting Pennywise anyways.
Seeing how they played up the eldritch abomination lurking beneath the skin vibe of IT, with that mile-long look into his face, I think we'll see some more stuff, maybe even the Turtle, in the next.

Rather than being found and sent to an asylum, Henry will be left for dead when in reality he spends the next thirty years with It in It's lair. Maybe the fear resulting from his torment for all those years will help It recuperate.

The reason we chose to keep the head still in this shot was because it is something which is physically impossible for abnormal human to do. The audience realizes this on a subconscious level and this adds to the general uneasiness people will feel when watching for themselves. We had this kind of effect AB tested multiple times before release and it had an overwhelmingly positive reaction (positively scared that is!) from our test audiences.

Given how Pennywise opens his mouth to a mile-wide abyss of torment and eternal agony for his victims, and how they showed other cosmic horror elements of him, I don't think they'll do the giant spider and if they do show something like his true form, it'll actually look interesting.

They designed Pennywise around looking like a spider with the bulbous head and buck teeth being like fangs, so they might stick with the arthropod but they might also just keep it as hints.

In the book It just killed the kids and left their bodies behind if It didnt eat them whole. People DID find bodies, thats just It being cocky. It knew that even if there were bodies It's influence over Derry would make it so that no one cares or did anything about it. Like prey animals just waiting to be eaten they'd freak out a bit when they find one of their own dead but eventually go back to grazing.

In the movie It's more spider-like; leave the kids trapped and sedated, feeding from them every so often until they either die from starvation or It gains enough power from their fear to simply kill and eat them outright.
