A) They're not jumpcuts if nothing changes but the angle of the scene while it keeps playing out linearly.

B) This goes back to my jab about people that don't understand film talking about about this shit as if they do, stay in your lane.

C) The Raid 2 is great, it has great fight scenes. Not every fight scene in every movie should nor can be shot like Raid 2 because the star of the movie is someone that does stunts for a living and have been doing martial arts for 20 fucking years.
Not an actor/actress that happens to do an action movie every once in a while.

They have stunt doubles, and while they try to do as much of their own stunts as they can sometimes it's shit so they have to use a double and to make the double less obvious while still keeping some sort of emotion in a scene you need different angles which means cuts.

I'm not saying >>87607494 is a good fight scene because it clearly isn't. In fact I'd say their fight in Avengers was better. But even when it goes against my opinion I call out bullshit when I see it.

Too many cuts reveal a lack of confidence in the content. They don't believe the stunt people executed the choreography competently enough for more than one movement at a time. They don't believe the camera set-ups are visually interesting enough to linger on for more than one second. They don't even believe the audience is smart enough to expect more from an action scene.
Whether it's Drunken Master, The Raid or even 300, great action isn't great because it has few cuts. It's because the material on screen is of high quality, and the lack of cuts signify pride in the production's work from the choreography, to the performance, to the cinematography to the editing itself, and respect to the audience's intelligent.
