RE7 made its money back unlike RE6.
Also RE5 to 6 was pure shit and not RE.
RE7 was a breath of fresh air after all that shit,

Mindless, pathetic and juvenile action with no direction or clear sense of purpose other than "looking cool" and waifu-bait with the objectively worst RE girl.

The movie is an extension of RE6, and RE6 is the worst game in the franchise. Even the people who made it fucking hate it. Everything connected to that game is garbage, and this movie uses its designs (while also somehow making the characters look worse - my man Leon looks like a fucking manlet with no sense of hygiene).

That's why the franchise made the proper choice to go in a new direction with RE7. No matter how hard you push your pathetic little fanfic of a movie, RE7 saved the franchise, and it did so in part because it divorced itself entirely from the brain-dead (pun intended) action and direction of RE6. Nobody liked RE6. Even if they did, they lied. Even Chris Redfield got a new design, more in line with his traditional RE1/RE:CV looks, and not the roided-up super-soldier boulder-puncher we got in RE5/RE6.

The fact that you are still salty about RE7 being the new golden goose of the franchise and blatantly deny it is laughable; you made my day. Enjoy your garbage, wallow in the filth that is RE6 and this movie.

Because they lose their interactivity. For example, playing "Papers Please" can be intense but watching a film about somebody checking documents on the border is not. In addition, games with stories are structured differently than films - more episodic as you move from task to task rather than a clear 3 act structure.
