I'm just so fucking stressed because my mind keeps hopping between multiple projects.
>>
>>87590864
It's been a while since I've actually written something all the way through. I got this opening to a script done last night, on a whim. It's not much but it's a decent enough start in my opinion.

Hope you like incest
>>
>>87590888
How close are you to finishing any of those projects?
>>
These used to be such grand old threads. What all happened?
>>
I found a great, simple book about writing good character arcs on Amazon. $3 on Kindle store. It's one of those 'how to ___' books that does tell you anything you don't instinctively know, but might not realize.

It's called "Creating Character Arcs" by something Wayland. Definitely worth the read. Can finish in an hour. Definitely recommend.

Also sold my first short screenplay last month. To an indie director from my town, but it's something.

Working on a small scale adventure movie now. ~30 pages in. Getting to the action. Love this shit.

Forced /fmg/ integration destroyed the audience

Sorry, just looked up the author. It's "Weiland." Still, great.

>sold my first short screenplay
Oh shit, congratulations! How much did you sell for?
>>
>>87593040
Yeah, I can see that. I started doing the /fmg/ threads a few years back and I'd legitimately hoped that they could become something of value, and for a while they were, then someone asked why /swg/ couldn't be a part of it and shit just sorta...it went down the drain.

This reads well but I have no idea where it's going

Thanks! I asked for $500. He offered something like $200 and we eventually settled on $300, but I get to be involved on the production process. So not bad.

I wish I could say the director sought me out because of some notoriety or past talent, but I worked with him on another indie film last year and we stayed in touch. Still, a sell is a sell.

I feel like I took advantage of him though, but that's a self-esteem thing. I feel bad for selling a 17-page script for that much but I'm pretty sure most are selling for a lot more than that. Need to explore the market more.

But yes, thanks. Feels good man

Honestly, me neither. The whole thing was started because of a repost if a Tumblr thing someone put on their Facebook, I thought it sounded funny and I had a vague idea of how to dramatize it but no clue what I'd do to end it.

I've been interested on writing some kind of Sci-fi Das Boot in which a spaceship (a rugged old looking ship which barely has enough space for it's crewmen) is patrolling an area between Mars and Jupiter looking for signs of a craft of unknown origin which has been attacking cargo ships coming from the mining facilities on the asteroid belt.
I just have tidbits written on paper but i guess i will use some of the software posted on the op and see what comes out of it.

Always start with a beat sheet. Makes life 20x easier. Not as romantic or as artsy as creating a screenplay stained with the tears and blood of a belabored artiste, but will get your story down and actually give you a shot of finishing.
>>
>>87590864
I honestly wish this and /fmg/ were popular and constant but that won't happen.
>>
>>87591383
Almost done with the first, halfway done with the second, haven't even done a full outline of the third.
>>

Thanks for the advice.

A man sorrounded by the stress of working in a dollar store in a small town and a loveless/abusive marriage finds solace in the local pub. One night he drunkingly stumbles upon a small shack in the woods after attempting to take a short cut. Inside there is a ballet dancer who performs a short dance for him. The shack provides his only solace in his life and he desperately searches the woods for it. He can only find it ever now and then (aka when the story progresses) and sometimes there is a black object blocking his vision. After finally mentally breaking against increasing stress he murders his wife and flees to the woods. The dancer finally notices him and opens her eyes revealing them to be completely black. Each dance is choreographed to reflect the mans current emotions.

Short film btw

A boy falls in love with a girl.

Unable to confess, he is gifted by a deus ex machina with the girl's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.

But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.

Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of LOVE.
