The original is absolute dogshit. Its a made for Tv movie at a time when television often had poor scripts, poor actors, and poor production values.

There are some saving graces, particularly in Curry's performance, but even that has been over-inflated by people who have nostalgic memories of catching it on TV and being scared when they were 7.

The 90' It is a very poor movie in general, and really isn't worth being revisited.

Wholeheartedly agree. The reverence people hold for it is baffling. IT is just a shitty story in general. King has only written a handful of good books, and even then only a few made into good movies (most of which he hates).
