That's the good thing with Bond, there's something for everyone. Though I'd only say Moore was the camp one mostly. Certain Connery films were a bit much and Brosnan got more camp as he went along. If you like Craig then I don't see why you would't like the two Dalton films.

Holy shit brosnan just went up in my rankings and Moore somehow sank even lower than I thought was possible.

so if the next movie in 2019 wraps up Craig's gritty time as Bond, where the hell does the series go next...its a rarity when a movie series go this long and continues to try to be fresh & modern

If Connery's era set the tone for the series, Moore's era brought a more comedy-oriented, laid back hero, Dalton proceeded to bring it back to the gritty novel feel (which the 80s film going public were not ready for), Brosnan's era mixed different elements of the previous movies together, and Craig brought it back to the gritty origins again (which the public were ready for)

where the fuck does it go next??!!
>>
>>87565818
Maybe they'll stick to the gritty feeling. There are other films like the Kingsman series which seem to balance it out with its silliness if people want that sort of thing.

ah that explains a lot, Im guessing after he was signed up for Octopussy (because they were starting to get a replacement until Connery was signed up to star in Never Say Never Again)

I did always love that Moore got a chance to do a slightly more serious Bond in For Your Eyes Only, and of course stayed on for Octopussy for aforementioned reasons...but Octopussy would have been the perfect time to bow out (even he was starting to get tired). then Dalton would have gotten his trilogy too...what could have been
>>
anyone else really want Martin Campbell back as director for Craig's last movie, they delivered the best Craig movie and it would bring it back full circle

then launch a new Bond with a new actor & new director (Nolan, the John Wick director...whoever else has been mentioned over the last few year)

Although I like the Craig movies, he's never really felt like Bond to me. He just doesn't have that occasional sense of fun or mischief that the others displayed. It's so jarring that even Kingsman seems more Bondlike and that's deliberately played OTT.

Timothy Dalton's movies are a perfect balance of gritty realism and English banter. Even in License to Kill he wasn't as brooding like Daniel Craig.

Casino Royale had that banter but took itself way too seriously.

Die another day had everything people want in a bond movie, partly because it was like the 40th anniversary of bond. If it didn't go as goofy towards the end and didn't have the dated early 2000s effects and editing it would be viewed as a better movie

>>
>>87578084
First of all, the crouching down thing might be intended as a dodge but I don't think it would work. The two crouchers make themselves smaller targets but they stay where the gunman would already be aiming so I can't see that helping much.

As for hitting their own shots, I'd say Moore because he's using two hands which makes fast stopping (of the gun) in the correct forward position more feasible. That said, his back leg is placed in a silly way, he's rotated, that's not a comfortable position for follow up shots. I'll ignore this for the rating, assuming we're prioritizing the first shot. Another valid critisizm is, he's just about the slowest of all! Editing had to reduce his movement to the very last bit to sync him up with the others. So yeah, he would hit his shot - granted he ever got to fire it in the first place.

Second place goes to Craig for the cleanest one handed technique. Note how Craig moves the gun straight up, he's horizontally on target all along, the only variable is vertical tilt as he fires. The reason I wouldn't rank him first is one-handed grip and one foot still in the air as he fires his first shot, meaning he would be unstable for follow up shots. He might have to take a moment to readjust before going into rapid fire.

Third, Brosnan has the best stance of all, completely stable on both feet before he fires (like Moore but comfy, not contorted). He would be the overall winner for speed and for accurate follow up shots. But for the first shot? He swings his arm around diagonally and it's way harder to end up precisely on target that way. There's a good chance he would miss his first shot but hit everything after. Basically the opposite of Moore's likely performance.

How did I do, /k/?
