>15 films and counting
>zero wortwhile contributions to film

How the fuck did they pull it off? One being more mediocre and by-the-books than the one before. Year after year the cycle repeats. Marvel was so much better before Disney sunk its claws in it.

>How the fuck did they pull it off?
By appealing to a wide range of ages with simple entertainment. You guys like to ask asinine questions rather than putting a modicum of thought into the question itself as if asking is enough.

No joke the MCU is one of the worst series ever made and this is someone who isnt a DCEU fanboy.

All I want is a good standalone super hero movie with realistic themes like sam raimi did in spiderman and nolan did in the dark knight.

I didnt mind GoTG2 cos it wasnt crammed with so many MCU references and it reminded me of Shrek 2 that I really liked back in the day but still. I am not a fan of the over the top CGI capeshit that we get now and I know Justice League is going to suck

Reminder that Mickey Rourke cursed Marvel studios in an interview for screwing over Iron Man 2 and preventing it from being an actual good sequel.
In fact, they screwed up so bad that Rourke vowed never to work with them ever again.

>By appealing to a wide range of ages
It pretty much only appeals to kids. But for some reason manchildren are obsessed with it aswell.

Want a film that actually appeals to a wide range of ages? The Raimi Spider-Man films. They had often nuances that went deeper if you were looking but there was also a fairly easy surface-level story. Also it made it easier to digest the film because it was actually competently filmed unlike the far majority of Marvel movies.

>It pretty much only appeals to kids. But for some reason manchildren are obsessed with it aswell.
So you're saying that it appeals to a bigger audience while also saying it appeals to a smaller audience. Fantastic, very smart.

Jesus christ, have we seriously regressed the point now where we aren't allowed to have real human beings on screen?
Because the bottom pic looks like a PS3 screenshot.

Iron Man 2 as whole got fucked over so royally by Disney. They started to run extensive focus tests for children and remade large parts of the film based on what the kids would like or did not like. Rourke most likely signed up because he liked what they did in IM1. But IM2 was under Disney control and they were never going to allow another IM1 risk.

It appeals to kids. That's it. And kids make up a huge demographic that can singlehandedly push a film to billion. Disney is like Nintendo. Their target audience is always kids but for some reason they also have developed an online cult where manchildren fanboys will defend their kids movies as "fun to turn your brain off for". Disney has fostered a culture of the sheltered manchild.

Trump supporters in a nutshell. They can't even remain consistent when making their argument. They just want to circlejerk ceaselessly and pretend they're actually annoying people, while the fact is most people don't care and these threads get less and less posts every day.

Iron Man 2 was such a strange experience to behold. There were inklings of a good movie in there, but many segments of the movie felt like they were plastered on at the last second to appeal to the kiddies and normies that Disney catered to. There were some good scenes, but when the bad scenes showed up, they were really fucking bad.

In hindsight, it wasn't a good movie but still considerably better than the shitshow that was IM3.

An adult being obsessed with a kid movie does not make the actual content mature.

Just go to /mlp/ and look at those adults obsessed with their pink ponies. That's the state of adults who obsess over the shit MCU. Atleast before Disney, you could watch a Marvel film and still feel like your self-respect was intact by the time the credits rolled.

You did. By refusing to admit that MCU is for kids. Hell look at the sharp contrast between Fox Marvel and Disney Marvel. Guess which of these aims for the kids exclusively?

I did not.

I quite clearly explained to you just now why you're wrong. Just because manchildren are obsessed with it like some are with My Little Pony does not mean that My Little Pony is not made for kids.

Being made for kids and appealing to kids are different concepts. You're trying to change what I said to suit what you want to say, or you don't understand it. I'm not shitposting when I ask you to put thought into your posts because you plainly aren't.

When I go see the movies in theaters, I see teens and young adults as well, male and female. It pulls even the twenties and thirties audiences in every showing I've gone to.

Who the fuck cares about awards? Suits don't. They care about dollar dollar bills. If they hadn't been stupid and got Robert Manlet Junior as Iron Man they'd be making 40% more money than they do. Biggest mistake Marvel made.

You do realize RDJ is pretty much the only reason Marvel breaks the billion per film right? In fact, you can source all MCU films breaking the billion almost entirely due to RDJ's presence.

The man carries tremendous star power. This is why they force him in everywhere they can. Without him, they struggle to hit 800m.
