WHERE IS MY FUCKING CAMRIP REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>
is that a lot?
>>
This is the Marvel Movie of horror movies. You go expecing something else but instead it's a fucking comedy.
>>
>>87485003
IT now holds the record for the highest Thursday night screenings of an R-Rated movie. More than Logan and Deadpool
>>
>>87485176
More than Logan, Deadpool, and The Passion of The Christ. Number one preview screenings for an R rated movie.
>>
>>87485003
It looks like horrorkino is back on the menu bois
>>
I appreciate that R-rated blockbusters are having so much success lately, but I wish they were taking advantage of that to make better movies instead.
>>
>>87485176
Yes. It already broke the preview screenings record for an R-rated movie, and it's going to be the biggest horror movie of all time.
>>
>>87485204
The comedy in IT is way more natural than Marvel, it's pretty obvious that Stand By Me is the inspiration.

Marvel has a joke quota
>>
>>87485249
neat guess releasing it with no competition was a smart move
>>
>>87485204
Fuck off retard
>>
Horror is king again!
>>
>/tv/ says it's gonna flop
>Proceeds to beat Capeshit in Thursday screenings
You can't make this shit up
>>
>>87486186
Well to be fair, any capeshit that it's up against came out at least two months ago.
>>
>>87486466
No I meant it made more money than Logan and Deadpool did their opening Thursday night
>>
>>87485204
Seriously they even have a fucking clown in it
>>
>>87486521
Oh I see. I'm glad. I went last night and it's great. Way better than we usually get for horror movies this time of year.
>>
>>87486186
haven't you learned?

Wonder Woman was supposed to have been a mess, was part of DC, turned out kino.
>>
>>87485176
For an R rated movie with a $75 million budget including marketing, yes
>>
>>87485338
Well Stand By Me is based on a Stephen King story..
>>

This is HUGE, bring on the Horror Kino
>>
>>87485338
Stephen King literally made Stand By Me
>>
>>87485003
Good. It deserves it. It's faithful to the spirit of the book and the kids were great.
>>
>>87485338
>doesn't even know Stephen King made Stand By Me
DCucks need to keep their mouths shut when they try to sound smart.
>>
>>87485338
Exactly. The humor is organic and grows out of the characters instead of them all just being vapid mouthpieces for "witty" flippancy.

No.

Yes.

>>
>>87487323
Was 'The Body' the story that pretty much established Stephen King's usual tropes of ridiculously over the top psychotic bullies and various forms of dysfunctional families? He uses that shit all the fucking time.
>>
>>87487641
Not sure what that anon is talking about. This version is a much more faithful adaptation than the 90s miniseries.

Wonder Woman was mediocre at best. The last 20 minutes or so, especially, was just fucking terrible. I dont understand why anyone treats it as anything above mediocre. The only thing I can think of is they are so autistically hateful toward marvel that they will treat any competition as the second coming of christ.
>>
>>87485249
>More than Logan, Deadpool, and The Passion of The Christ
all shit films

and there are literally no films in theatres right now, it isn't hard to get these numbers

reminder that anyone who uses the word "horrorkino" needs to go back to /r/movies
>>
I liked a lot of aspects of it, but I fucking hated Finn wolfhard. All he was there for was to say fuck and talk about his dick. I get that's supposed to be the character but coming from him it just seemed like he was playing himself saying "haha yeah I was in stranger things". Pretty good otherwise though.
>>
>>87487811

That's barely an elaboration. Without any specific criticism, all i can say is rushed and simplified is what pretty much what always happens when you adapt a massive book into a movie, yet despite that it was still faithful to the book and a very good adaptation.
>>
>>87487278
I hope this means WB stops being chickenshits and finally pulls the trigger on big-budget THE STAND.

No sex scene but that underwear shots sufficed.
>>
The Stand when?
>>
>>87485003
I'd rather horror remakes than capeshit any day. Hopefully this means Paramount will go ahead with the Friday the 13th set in the 80s they were supposed to make this year.

This is how it always works on /tv/, some fuckers see like 4 or 5 contrarian posts about it being shit and think that's everyone.

It's like how this board would have threads about 13 year old actresses in 2010 and /tv/ was the "pedo" board for like 5 years.
>>
>>87488103
No. Rights are scattered across other studios.
>>
>>87489341
>It's like how this board would have threads about 13 year old actresses in 2010 and /tv/ was the "pedo" board for like 5 years.

Kind of a bad example considering we have 20 or more cunny threads spammed every single day here.
>>
Based tucking Froggo saves cinema
>>
>>87489483

That's a different thing.
Like foot faggotry, it's not the same thing as normal lusting over tits and ass of whoever is in the latest movie or show.

"Cunny" wasn't even a thing until like 2013 when it became the call-sign for anti-mod spamming. It just made everything worse.

There's a couple of decent jokes in IT, but most of the comedy is so forced and bad. They made the Strangers Things actor comic relief thats job is to either say something funny or "OH SHIT/OH FUCK" in a comical way in LITERALLY EVERY SCARE
>>
>>87489774
I'd love to see HBO or Showtime produce a new miniseries for The Stand. The 90s version is terrible.
>>
>>87489813
the genre is called horror, not dread
>>
>>87489774
They'd make it a trilogy.
>>
>>87489841
okay but thats realistic. i would say the same thing.

The best comedy bit was Pennywise doing a mad shuck and jive. fucking great
>>
>>87489850
And you called it the renaissance of horror, but it's just the same old, dull shit that you see coming a mile away. Don't get me wrong, there were some decent scenes mixed in there too, but it felt like they either ran out of ideas or went "Hmm, but shouldn't we add a REAL jumpscare in there, Bob, that's what they want. Just make something jump at the screen after a silence"
>>
>>87489841
That's an accurate portrayal of Richie though. He goes on to become a popular DJ and comedian as an adult.
>>
>>87489849
Look what happened to Under The Dome, they'd end up making it retarded probably
>>
>>87489841
That happened after like 2 scares, and only if you count "what the fuck is happening?" to be a "joke" line.

He didn't talk about his cock and Eddie's mom during any of the scary parts.
>>
>>87489580

>>
>>87489908
I didn't call it shit, you fat fuck.
And I'm not reading the rest of your impotent rage paragraph.

Horror is a trash genre and always has been.
>>
>>87485204
It was less campy than the 90s version. Are comedy moments but unlike marvel it's never really inappropriate.

Pennywise doesn't even really crack jokes while being spooty. If this was a MCU movie Beverly would say something like "definitely left swipe" when she saw Pennywise open his face up etc
>>
>>87489900
But the OH FUCK is there for comedy. The boy faces his worst fears and all he does is go "OH SHIT". It's not believable because it's not suppose to be. It's there for comedic value as is his character, and the movie would have been way better if they left 1 out of 10 lines of his in
>>
>>87489712
>um no sweetie that makes no sense

>be hollywood exec

Yes, and there was the photoshop of her face where her nose was a flaccid penis and her forehead mole was a pile of shit.
>>
>>87489964
Eh, I guess. didn't bother me because he is a total dickwad in the original books and uses his JOKING as a way to cover up his fear. many people do that. people fear-laugh instead of scream. I get why it annoyed you, but for his character it made a lot of sense for me
>>
>>87489916
I'm pretty sure his only line in the whole movie that wasn't in there for comedic value or wasnt just a OHSHIT was the "I hate clowns" one
>>
>>87489964
>The boy faces his worst fears and all he does is go "OH SHIT". It's not believable because it's not suppose to be

>>
>>87490009

>>
>>87489912
That was on CBS. Surely HBO, or any other network, could be better.
>>
>>87485167
same desu
>>
>>87485338

The book is Horror Stand By Me. So if this is how the movie is, then good
>>
>>87490012
If you were REALLY afraid of spiders, you'd react way more violently. Is this monster from other universe that specializes in fear only able to conjure up nightmares that make you jump out a little? Compare it to the girl or the jew having the face their fears. But honestly, that wasn't even my main point. My point was that he's only there for comedic relief, which is fine in moderation, but when he does it LITERALLY all the time, he just ruins the movie.
>>
>>87490009
Right so you're ignoring that he stops cracking """jokes""" when he actually sees shit and he's the first one to draw line at trying to fight and infinite death monster clown and literally starts a fucking fist fight because he doesn't want to end up like the main character's dead brother?

Right, yeah, but he's like epic memester, constantly making jokes, like the part where he's scared of the clown room and he says "exit, stage left!" and runs away while a comedic tuba music cue starts.

Oh wait, that didn't happen. He just says "oh fuck" when a monster comes at him and you've just let capeshit hate warp your weak mind to where you let anything even resembling a "quip" ruin your life for a period of 30 hours.
>>
>>87488368

Again, this word. It's factually incorrect, even if you're a sperg who thinks him screaming "FUCK" and running away is an attempt at humor.

A "joke" is when in the first 15 minutes of the movie he's making fun of another character's mom.
Shit like the other post I'm quoting says, where he goes "I'm going to kill this clown" is not a "joke"

>>
>>87490617
Yes she resembles the actor of Pennywise quite a bit. They were already dead afaik, they just descended.
>>
It was a solid movie, I'd give it an 8.0. Wish it was a little scarier. It was freaky in a "oh shit that's messed up" kind of way, but I was never on the edge of my seat, or actually nervous. Jurassic Park raptors in the kitchen is how I would have preferred it. Tense. I wanted to feel paranoid. Instead it was just gory imagery. It wasn't bad at all, I'm just posting my opinion. I will admit one scene did send shivers down my spine when Mike is being beaten by Henry. He turns his head towards the woods as when he's wincing, and he sees pennywise smiling and giggling while eating Georgie's gory, detached arm.
>>
How gory is the arm scene?

The whole movie involves a clown chasing 7 children around, is it a comedy to you? It should be, by your logic, and thus any perceived comedic lines should no longer bother you.

>it's a clown!
>it's comedy!

I didn't even like the movie that much, but your complaints are so illegitimate it hurts.

No, the clown wasn't the point. A kid just suddenly pulling out a baseball out of some trash is not a setting for an epic moment. Also it's about the tone of the scene, and are you really saying me that it wasn't suppose to be comedic when he did that?

>>87491271
it was supposed to be heroic, or at least heroic in a way a kid would imagine it. By that point pennywise was more or less beaten already, the kids were not afraid and fear was Pennywise's greatest strength, at that point, the final ass kicking was inevitable.
>>
>>87491328
No they're not, that's like saying mammals and reptiles are the same thing.
>>
>>87491271

It actually was, he was the clown more than he was anything else
>A kid just suddenly pulling out a baseball out of some trash
It's trash from kids previously killed, clearly Pennywise snatched some kid up from a baseball field during a late night game or something
>it wasn't suppose to be comedic when he did that?
It was a hero standing up to a villain. Do you laugh when that happens in every other movie where that happens? Braveheart and Gladiator and Star Wars and the Raid? Do you laugh when a girl at the end of a Friday the Thirteenth movie beats Jason in the head with a piece of wood?

The entire theme of the fucking movie was facing your fears, guess what he does at the end? After a scene where he decides he'd be better of not doing so for the purposes of not dying horribly, his friend is in trouble so he decides to help save her, then his other friend is in trouble so he decides to fight.

I think your brain is broken.

A pretty good movie honestly.
Its not massively scary or anything (except the projector scene. I laughed but man did it make me tense and jump and feel very unsettled), infact I laughed a lot i. this film.
Its more of a comedy horror, a la Evil Dead or Drag Me To Hell. The character interaction and acting was pretty gold all round, as were the visual effects.

I want to watch the second part for sure.

Just got back from seeing this. I was afraid it wouldn't live up to the hype but damn I gotta admit it was fucking great. Everyone in the theater seemed to enjoy it, they jumped, they laughed, and I even heard people after it saying it was one of the best horror films they had seen. Just saw it.

It was a really good film. It wasnt scary at all to me but it still kept me engaged. The effects were very cartoony though (the picture lady looked like a flash animation scare). It also rushed character motivations but you still get the idea.

It changes a lot from the book but i was never enraged. Its funny how they basically copied the tv movie in some cases because they knew some scenes wouldnt translate.

Enough with the orgy but for an R Rated movie, I actually felt like it wasn't as bloody or as adult as it could have gone.

I take it the actors who played the bullies were over 18 so they easily could have filmed the blowjob scene and then the scene where the bully leeches thrown all over is body as It then drags him away.

Really liked the scene where that bully was killed in sewers (forgot his name) but they could have done more with stuff like that and made it more explicit when the losers club wasn't present

also, bev bathroom scene and projector scenes were great - I thought the trailer spoiled that and showed it all - boy was I wrong

it wasn't as scary to me as I expected, but than again, I haven't watched a horror that scared me in years - it's an adventure horror with a great atmosphere - it'll be a classic and it deserves it

It's never actually said she killed him, sure she hits him in the head, he falls down and we see some blood pooling, but i never assumed the dad died, also in the end they talk about Bev going to live with her aunt (or was it mom?) and is leaving Derry, and I thought the implication was not that dad was dead, but rather bev not wanting to live with him

Well all i can say is that that's not the impression i got, if i recall correctly, Bev even says that the mom or aunt which ever it was says "you can stay with us for as long as you want"
Which to me implies she does have some other place to go, but does not want to go there, and if we go by the book the dad is alive, so i don't see them changing that and then not addressing it. So in my mind all that adds up to the dad still being alive, but Bev not wanting to live with him.
