Rey is Anakin's clone. That's why Kylo Ren was so assblasted about not being as powerful as his grandpa. The clones of Anakin that are under Luke's care are more powerful than him, the biological heir of Anakin. And then Kylo was seduced, and he murdered all the clones save one. I don't know why, but Rey retains some of the memories of Anakin. I believe that if we ever start cloning people, each would have a unique soul despite having the same body. So in The Empire Strikes Back, using AT-ATs kinda makes sense, because we never see TIE fighters on any actual planets. TIE fighters are pretty much exclusively used in space, and so apparently walking tanks are needed for ground battles.
But in The Force Awakens, we see that TIE fighters can fly just fine right over the ground inside an atmosphere. So why does the First Order need all these AT-ATs, and AT-M6s then? Just use spaceships
