Optimus Prime's scenes

The rest of it is nothing but constant action to entertain children with random rock and pop songs thrown in to add energy to the scenes. Fuck this movie. I've never been so let down before.

Yeah, I just keep seeing people talk about how it's one of the best animated films, one of those movies that defined entire childhoods, way better than the Bay movies, etc. I was under the impression that it was actually pretty good. Even Bayformers is unironically better. Those movies are competently made compared to this. I was prepared for cheesiness but I wasn't prepared for the micromachines dude talking really fast for no reason, uplifting rock songs randomly popping up at the beginning of the movie where they don't even belong in the first place, or Eric Idle spewing literal gibberish most of the time. There's actually a scene where they break out into dance while Weird Al's "Dare to be Stoopid" plays. It's God damn nonsense. I love nostalgia but I have the common courtesy to understand that some of the shit I watched as a kid, like the digimon movie, just isn't that good unless you were exposed to it as a kid.
