More like Trekcucks so desperate for a decent show, and already know DSC is a buttfuck, turn to the Family Guy creator in the desperate hope it'll be watchable and in the original spirit of Star Trek.

Honestly it feels like they've been playing sad trombone for two decades. It's one of the most enduring and successful shows, how can it be so fucking hard to make a new show?

All you have to learn, after so many failures, is that Star Trek moves forward. Not back. No timetravel. No retcon. No alternate universe. Just MOVE THE SETTING UP IN TIME just like they did with TNG. Same universe. Have a few cameos by the old crew for comfiness sake. Data is probably still around. Klingons live to be old. Maybe Picard can exist as a hologram.

But at least it would make some sense. And still leave you free to do your own story not too burdened by canon, but without also taking a steaming shit on canon.
