Honest thoughts on breaking bad?

Skylar was the worst written character in television history. The show took a complete nosedive in S5 with only Ozymandias and the finale actually worth watching.

I didnt understand the hype, it was alright, it wasnt amazing or captivating, just another show on tv that if you see it is on and theres nothing your looking for youll throw it on, on the same level as mythbusters

Very good but way overhyped and relied too much on suspense.

Tried to watch it. Ended up skipping through most of the first few episodes. Sucks

absolutely fantastic at first, look at all the colour themes of the first season with what people wear and where they stand etc.

gus' face being blown off and then fixing his tie genuinely made me cringe, like one of those moments in a film where you think, "fuck, that really broke my immersion"

the last season and ending felt rushed, ricin used again was lazy, the machine gun sprinkler while quite cool felt like it was trying to be smart and wasn't, i loved jessie's escape though.

not sure, mixed bag but overall great tv

I felt like it was building up to something good but then it ended without ever doing that.
Also each episode had enough plot for maybe 15 minutes stretched into 40.

Honestly? It's highly rewatchable, pretty good escapism but not what I would call good cinema. Doesn't reinvent any wheels but does everything it wants to do pretty good. Intriguing main idea.

Then let me tell you: it's american imperialism at its finest. Breaking Bad was originally set in China (in a small village in the Shezuan province, which as you all know suffers from contant drought pretty much like New Mexico). Walt's character is completely childish in the american version.

It's a great show that is honestly as good as you can reasonably expect TV to be. If you didn't enjoy it and your reasons for not enjoying it weren't to do with you not liking the genre or the storyline or whatever, then your reasons are invalid. I really appreciate the fact that they knew when to end it.

Better Call Saul is a slow build but a cool twist on the same kind of universe breaking bad is in.

I'd highly suggest both.

Entertaining.

However, the last episode is absolutely terrible. Penultimate episode is pure kino though.
