He's big into the "muh family" trope, this shit becomes REALLY apparent once you watch his earlier Pride and Glory

All in all it's the type of thing you think is kickass when you are 13, like snowboarding. Seems like a good fit.

why make a sequel? I can think of almost 800 million reasons. Plus general audiences actually liked the movie.
