Saw this at a big single-screen theater in Westwood with a great sound system, sat in the balcony. Ngl it was fucking thrilling, and the special effects were impressive. Loved seeing them ripping freeway support columns.

Poorly shot, soulless, random, pointless, over dramatic, cheesy action scenes set to a Linkin Park power ballad. Shaky cam, blurry, zoomed in, 1 second, ADHD editing with 20 different camera angles.

Blatant and lazy story, plot holes, continuity errors, pacing problems, terrible cliche and excessive ad lib dialogue. Horrible acting, cringe inducing comedy and toilet humor that would make a 10 year old vomit in disgust.

Intense slow motion shots of characters. The camera moving during most scenes. Actors/characters in his films are almost uniformly shot in tight, emphatic close ups, framed under the hairline and above the chin. Over-the-top visuals (i.e. key events taking place at sunset or dramatic events taking place behind actors doing routine activities).

Monotonic but intense musical cues during action-filled car chase scenes. Shots of aircraft against a setting sun, especially helicopters. Slow-motion shot of an object crashing into, or tumbling towards the camera. A shot where the camera spins in a circle around characters. Scenes that involve characters running or moving towards the camera (almost always shot in slow-motion).

I won't dispute this. Transformers '07 was very generic but still solid action. Michael Bay's Transformers in general aren't great, but you have to appreciate them by the age group they're intended towards (10 to 17 year old boys). If you keep that in mind, or you saw them at that age, they're actually very fun.
