I hope they do a biting commentary on the Trump administration and its policies. The show has definitely decreased in quality as it has gotten more and more political but I still watch it because I like enough of the characters that it keeps my interest. Each season there are probably an equal number of annoying episodes as good ones, depending mostly on which prisoner's backstory they are focusing on in that episode. I liked this season's episodes about the stuck-up corporate bitch and the old survivalist woman. Then I hated Taystee's backstory and the entire shitty plot involving her character

Like all Jenji Kohan shows, it starts strong but tries to reinvent itself somewhere around season 3 and suddenly you're watching an almost entirely different show.

>Now show is about riding the coattails of the social justice movement that's popular at the moment, spouting platitudes and clumsily undermining the very messages they're trying to put forth.

Also it has the very same problem LOST did where they run out of interesting flashbacks and the episodes start to suffer for it. Unlike LOST OitNB doesn't have the sci-fi edge to start fucking with time like LOST did to get around that problem.

The show has TOO MANY CHARACTERS. So many they don't have time to develop or make them all distinctive, I literally cannot tell which older latina lady is which most of the time.
