Mass murderers are worshipped as pop culture icons, get away in the end, have intercourse, etc. Oliver Stone is basically trying to create enough school shooters that America becomes weak and Russia can take over.

It's supposed to be critical of media coverage of violence and serial killers but dumbasses can't into subtext and just see them looking like folk hero badasses, which is what the movie was trying to criticize
