Do you think they went a little too far?
more gore = better. you are getting used to and familar with, therefore in sudden case of accident you are less likely to panic and keep cold blood

The bosses wanted to make an example
>>87313286
They could have shot him and left his body somewhere. This was just fucking monstrous!
best death in Scorsese movie by far.
>>87313084
The effects in that scene are great, the kind of twitchy way the animatronics move just makes you feel the severity of the beating that much more.
>>87313469
That wouldn't send a strong message

>he's not into psychological warfare
>>87314618
>>87314660
But Nicky was a lone wolf! What benefit would this psychological warfare be?
>>87314618
to who? they killed them and buried them where no one could find em lol
>>87314683
To put the fear of god in any other would-be lone wolves

The goons obviously spread the word. De Niro found out, for one.

>that part where his narration cuts out mid-sentence after he's hit with the bat
Made the movie from a 9/10 to a 10/10.
>>87314993
The narration is god tier

Is Casino the shortest 3 hour movie of all time? I say yes.

I wish I could watch this for the first time again, that was such a shock
>>87315227
I didn't even realise it was that long, there's no padding or indulgent shots of nothing you'd normally expect from a film with that runtime, the drama is basically at peak levels throughout. Definitely agreed.

Those impractical Jokers really upped the punishments this season.

You know trampled flat. Like pizza.
>>87313084
Goodfellas doesn't hold a candle to this masterpiece.
>>87313084
I kinda felt bad for Nicky's brother. Like were there any stories about him being close to as loose of a cannon as Nicky or having actually done something shitty enough to get whacked?
>>87314508
>The effects in that scene are great
People are saying it's poorly made somehow but I've seen enough liveleak gore to say this looks on point.
In fact real death is generally a lot less impressive than Hollywood would have us believe. The biggest thing they have trouble replicating is the watermelon like splash of caved in heads, eyes poking out of smashed skulls, the rippling of fat when shot.. generally the squishy nature of humans.
I don't think it's because they couldn't replicate this (heads would be hardest obviously), but rather because it looks goofy. There's no grace in death.
>>87317709
In real life, it's assumed he was only killed because he was with Nicky at the time.
>>87317786
>When you're such a big piece of shit that your brother gets beaten to near death with baseball bats and then buried alive just cause he was with you
I always lol at the way Nicky always forcefully pulled chicks to give him head
>>87314508
the way the dusty "breath" puffs out of the mouth is so disturbing
>>87314840
literally makes no sense, they could've killed him in any way then tell the goons whatever they liked
>>87318591
italians are a cruel people and they like to make other people suffer.
>>87318591
You know they killed the real life people the characters were based off in a similar way? Seems like it made sense to them.
>>87318753
>>87318678
i was arguing about the argumentation, not the methods
>>87318889
Why do you think they killed them in such a way if not to set an example?
>>87313084
Did Nicky?
>>87318972
because they were assholes and they like to torture people?
for the (((exapmple))) purposes they could've killed him in any way they liked then tell to spread the word that he was pushed into meat grinder legs front/ killed in any brutal way they imagined
>>87317709
I dunno about the real-life character, but the movies indicated that Dominic was basically one of Nicky's henchmen and they worked all or most of their jobs together after Nicky brought him to Vegas. Then again, so was Frankie, and he pulled the trigger on this.
>>87319164CHARLIEFUCKIN'M
>>87319714
People would inevitably find out it was bullshit if they made up a story and trusted some random goons to stick to it, come on.
