Manhunter is a boring movie and a shitty adaptation of a great book. The movie should have ended with the original Picasso finale.

Great movie.
I found the choice of music kinda questionable to be honest and the use of the sunset beach image excessive in a way, despite its meaning, but those didn't matter that much.
Mann is great director and I can see why /tv/ worships him.

He makes interesting points for the rest of things.
On that part he ends it with "I don't get it" which is fine. He focuses on how much more creepy looking Red Dragon is and maybe, taking into account the the shots he shows, he is right. But Manhunter is more visually pleasant.

I've noticed that female reviewers and commenters hate this film.

I think it's a movie women in general can never understand.

To this day, Brian Cox is my favorite, and IMO best, depiction of Hannibal Lecter.

I really hated the magic-man bullshit they pull with Hopkins and that Danish guy who played the AU gay version of Hannibal.
