Why do people hate this movie so much?
Whenever I see complaints about Alien 3 I barely see anyone talk about the actual content of the film, they just mention the production issues surrounding it, the fact that Hicks and Newt die and generally just complain it wasn't another action flick like Aliens.
I just finished watching the assembly cut and it wasn't bad at all, it was just very bleak.
Personally it's probably one of my favorites, I'd definitely put it above everything that came after it.

Oh yeah, I noticed that a lot too.
I kept seeing the bluescreen reflect in certain scenes.
It was interesting reading up on all the stuff they attempted to get the feral Xenomorph concept to work.

This is pretty much the only reason its hated so much. Most Aliens fans never watched the first. They're worse than Star Wars fans
