Left was at least an attempt to make a movie and was entirely self-contained.

Right was nothing but garbage fanservice that retroactively made FFVII a little worse.

Advent children is basically just a shitty anime. Bad voice acting, incomprehensible plot. Stupid edgy cliche characters, awkward dialogue. At least it looks great and has awesome fight scenes.

One was a movie no one asked for, was an amazing feat of technology and was a shockingly good contained story that no one went to see, FF fans included.

The other is a movie every post FF6 fan asked for, was an amazing feat of technology and was literally made to cash in on 7's rabid fanbase several times (hence several versions) that they didnt give a shit enough about to release in theaters
