Some people say that this movie is mediocre or not scary etc but I dunno, it just clicked with me so well, I fucking LOVE this movie
Suspence and mystery is great and MC is doing reasonably great
What do you think
one of my favorites to be sure. As a teenager I read a LOT of Stephen King and I was disappointed that most of the adaptations are sit but this one hit the spot. Still waiting for a Long Walk movie by a good director
Probably one of the best King adaptations. Not a fan of the alternate ending though.

It was a breath of fresh air at the time, when the horror scene was stale as shit and the found footage cancer was about to relapse with Paranormal Activity 1

Mike dies in the room and Olin goes to the funeral. After it's over, Olin gets into his car and looks in the rear view mirror and there's a jump scare when he sees Mike's ghost.

Some of the DVDs have the bad ending but you can watch the original one in the bonus features and vice versa. They advertised two versions; the theatrical release and the director's cut. I can't remember which ending belongs to which edition, though.

Apparently that's the ending the director wanted. Test audiences got mixed messages about it since it was trying to pass it off as a "good" ending in how Mike is finally with his daughter but the jumpscare kinda muddled it up.
Funnily enough, that was the version I saw first, and yet I still prefer the theatrical ending where he survived since it was surprisingly more subtle.
