Well, Adventure Time exists. Lots of references to and explications of occult topics and lots of fast-paced transgressive humour. Still, XRA is so much tighter in its dialogue and the way each episode pertains to one topic (at least in season 1). Adventure Time however has 280 episodes instead of 20 and even if not every one of them deals with occult or metaphysical themes, it still covers so much more ground than Xavier, plus it has interesting and developed characters outside of the protagonist.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Xavier: Renegade Angel. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of modern philosophy most of the jokes will go over a typical viewers head. There's also Xavier's existentialist outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Jean-Paul Sartre
literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE (life) (life). As a consequence people who dislike Xavier: Renegade Angel truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Xavier's existential catchphrase "FRITATA," which itself is a cryptic reference to Dostoyevsky Russian epic The Brothers Karamazov. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Vernon Chatman's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.
