Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite syncs almost perfectly with two of the best Pink Floyd songs.
It has golden ratio-like qualities in its rhythm.

it's the closest thing we have modern myth after the Enlightenment. Kubrick was basically doing a creation myth that incorporated relatively new sciences and postulations like evolution, technology, AI, extraterrestrial life, etc. etc. The film succeeds in making these primal yet newly reasoned forces of human existence awe-inspiring and mysterious in the same way a grand cathedral would have for people a few hundred years ago.

It's Clarke you should thank for that.

Without Kubrick there would be no 2001. He asked for Clarke to write the film for him and it was only after production started that a novel of 2001 came in existence. Also understand that the strength of the myth is directly tied to the strength of its medium, without Kubrick's mastery of the sensory, the narrative of Space Odyssey would not hold the same power.

What is The Sentinel? Yeah sure the movie was made in parallel with the novel but if Kubrick hadn't asked Clarke to write it, Clarke would probably have integrated his ideas into some other book.

>the narrative of Space Odyssey would not hold the same power.
Read the book.
