Is it me or did Spielberg go to shit after 1984? Before then

Jurassic Park is the only movie after 1984 that is worth a shit.

The colour purple, Empire of the sun, Always, he tried several oscar baiting crappy movies and finally got it with Auschwitz the movie. Then he kept doing crappy movies with Tom Hanks and several failed attempts to do sci-fi again. His Ready Player One looks like shit, I hope it flops big time just like the BFG. I hate this guy because he produced the Transformers films and is behind the Star Wars disaster. He's responsible for manufacturing Kathleen Kennedy and JJ abrams

He didn't go to shit but I know exactly what you mean about his weird/ghoulish tendencies getting muted in his later career. After Temple of Doom he would NEVER kill off a kid on-screen the way he did in Jaws, for instance. If Jurassic Park had come earlier in his career it would be way more gory and disturbing. War of the Worlds and Minority Report have flashes of that early kinky grossness.

I found WoW and Minority report extremely dull, remember the happy end in WoW when his family is entirely alive with no reason. And why was the main character such whipped cuck. His wife visits him with her new husband and a pregnant belly and he was just fine with it.

After 2005 he's a write-off, but up until then he's still putting out quality.
