The sad thing is that they claimed the Dark Matter/ Killjoys twofer was a return to space sci-fi instead of the low budget modern day but with some props sci-fi and fantasy and bad on purpose shit they'd been doing since Universe was cancelled. Now one is gone and they've only started up one other space sci-fi series, while continuing to crank out the shit they claimed was on the downtrend.

The show is trash good riddance. Hopefully silent hill girl starts doing nude scenes. When they cancelled SGU that was their final mistake. The show pandered a bit too hard but got a lot better now it's just nothing but pure trash with The Expanse only being mildly entertaining due to the source material being good but suffers from a lot of shit like the SJW pandering and bottom of the barrel casting. Hell I came across some Eureka clips the other day and I almost shed a tear...

No normally when Syfy cancels something they're pretty adamant about it. Closest thing we ever got was the Peacekeeper Wars after Farscape was canned and that pretty much took a wish from the dragon balls to make happen.

They fucked up execution from beginning, they needed someone like guy that wrote deadwood to make a show like this interesting. If you do a show on a limited budget, you need someone that can write characters/interactions very well and that is not what Dark matter is.

They destroyed 4's characterization, 1 was botched twice, black dude is scifi cancer, 2 was not enough for what she needed to be, 3 was best part but he doesn't work well in a vacuum which is what happened after 1 got killed off twice.

I think Magicians will be fine, they've been given an easy template since the actors they got work together well chemistry wise, even if they botched characterization of every character and it still pisses me off. They turned penny into a street shitter chadite. Though he does seem like a bro irl with actor plays quentin so I kind of learned to let my autism slide on it.

And every woman on the show is attractive. That helps a lot.

Jane is really only actor besides grandma and captain' snow's mom who has any acting gravitas.

The tick is main bad guy so far.

Jane's story is usually the one surrounded by the better actors too including OPA guy. If you can stomach Holden in first season, you will like him better in second, mostly because he takes on Jane's character qualities. Not a lot but enough, it's better in the books but the grace notes that they give Jane's character, I would argue actually do better than the book which is hard to do, it's beautiful.

the problem was the show peaked in the third season, Anna silk got preggers so that threw wrenches and slowed down production for the fourth season and that was when they started airing on the syfy channel. The show never recovered and they destroyed their own world building by bringing in more and more greek shit. Which is the go to move by a lot of authors, using latin/greek stuff to flourish a little but it just didn't fit the gaelic/celtic thing they were going for in the show.

If they had stopped at the third season, it would be considered a great cult show.
