I know it would be ass, but Jaws; the way it was originally meant to be without the sharks fucking up.
Sydney Lumet somehow followed up Dog Day Afternoon and Network with this?
Cool aesthetic tho, the staging is just boring and Richard Pryor sucks ass.

this.
with slick CGI, some color-correction casting the film in an eerie shade of green, shaky-cam, speedup/slowdown action sequences, and more diversity among the cast this time.

Scanners.
The lead actors terrible acting nearly ruins the movie.
NO REMAKES they turn everything to shit. Only pre 2000s were remakes do able. These days they will alter the characters ethnicity just to appeal to some consumers and dumb down the storyline.

I'd have to re-watch but my impression of the story and the lead's circumstances are such as possibly excuse certain details. We are presented with an amnesiac who is speedily led through an unreliable narrative (I use these terms non-literally in order to give a feel of the plot).
In other words, it's maybe like a modern understanding of a video game with a "silent protagonist" (Legend of Zelda, Chrono Trigger), or a recognizable wooden figure into which you can project yourself.

combine the first two and make a mocumentary of them doing a period piece version of the first one but in the 80s
