I don't know if it's mexikino, but certainly is better than the original version , which is probably one of the dullest franchises in history. Seriously each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody, just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.

Harrry Potter es probablemente una de las franquicias más aburridas de la historia. En serio, cada episodio siguiendo al mago chico y sus amigos de la Academia de Hogwarts mientras luchan contra villanos variados ha sido indistinguible de los demás. Aparte de las sombrías imágenes, la única consistencia de la serie ha sido su falta de excitación y el uso ineficaz de efectos especiales, todo para hacer que la magia no sea mágica, hacer que la acción parezca inerte.
Tal vez el dado fue lanzado cuando Rowling vetó la idea de Spielberg dirigiendo la serie; se aseguró de que la serie nunca sería confundida con una obra de arte que significaba algo para nadie, sólo ridículamente rentable promoción cruzada para sus libros. La serie de Harry Potter podría ser anti-cristiana (o no), pero ciertamente es la serie anti-James Bond en su rechazo a la maravilla, la belleza y la emoción. Nadie quiere enfrentarse a ese hecho. Ahora, afortunadamente, ya no tienen que hacerlo.

Comencé a marcar en el reverso de un sobre cada vez que se repetía esa frase. Me detuve sólo después de haber marcado el sobre varias docenas de veces. Yo estaba incrédulo. La mente de Rowling está tan gobernada por clichés y metáforas muertas que no tiene otro estilo de escritura. Más tarde leí una exquisita y cariñosa crítica de Harry Potter por el mismo Stephen King. Escribió algo en el sentido de: "Si estos niños están leyendo a Harry Potter a los 11 o 12 años, entonces, cuando sean mayores, seguirán leyendo a Stephen King". Y tenía toda la razón. No estaba siendo irónico. Cuando lees "Harry Potter", de hecho, estás entrenado para leer a Stephen King.
