LOTR is my favorite of the bunch

Alexander Revisited has the best/most authentic ancient battle scenes ever depicted on the screen. It has a lot of problems, but goddamn when it hits those high notes, it hits them.

Apparently it makes a lot more sense pace wise and story wise. I have never seen the original, but I thought it was a really good movie in spite of its flaws. Truthfully it's a movie that is better if you know the background of Alexander the Great and the stories around him, but if you didn't it would be rather strange. It's a treat if you're a history fan
