Who is the best director of animated films/series?

DIRECTOR? Probly tied between Bluth and Genndy depending on action content. Bakshi if you want to trip balls.

To me:
Jankovics > Tartakovsky > Bluth > Bakshi
Not really a fan of rotoscoping
>>87168663
the guy who invented pickle rick

Rotoscoping is my fetish but Bakshi was a fucking burnout hippie fuck so most of his projects collapsed under the weight of his mounds of cocaine and marijuana weeds.
Fritz was edgy bullshit, Wizards was great, fire and ice was great. American Pop is really a godly magnum opus though, he redeemed everything ever rotoscoped with that.

I also want to throw Peter Chung in there somewhere between body horror and bdsm fetish tier shit but I'm not sure how much was solely art direction vs. animation direction.

I've seen Son of the White Mare and The Tragedy of Man along with some shorts. Does he have much else to check out?
>>87169406
American Pop was great I admit. Wizards I must see, the ones I didn't like that much were Coonsking, Fritz and Fire & Ice.

Has he done anything besides Aeon Flux and that Matrix short?
>>87170367
Those are the only ones I've seen as well. But both of those are among my favorite non-japanese animated movies.

He did that one about Alexander the great I don't remember much of. He also worked under bakshi at some point.
>>87170466
Still not sure he does much outside the art design stuff though.
