let's settle this once and for all - does /tv/ like postmodernism?
please no 16 year old petersonfags who use his branding of the term interchangeably with sjw and cultural Marxism.
Pic related.
what percentage of /tv/ do you think regularly reads contemporary philosophy and understands its context?

Only when I'm in a semi-depressed mood. Mostly no.

I like the potential it has more than what it's spawned so far. Postmodernism has been pretty much solely leftist for it's entire existence, but I think once it really catches on with the right they'll realize that they're right at home and they'll be much more creative with it.

it's really not that difficult a concept and its origins aren't even in philosophy, it started out in art. There's a pretty wide range of postmodernist tv shows and films.
>>87119187
most people in the arts have always been leftists in fairness
>>87119085
Large percentage of /tv/ haven't even finished their essential list yet.

"no"
>>87119226
I don't know how far back you're thinking when you say that, but there were definitely long stretches of time where the arts were right wing.
>>87119268
A large percentage of /tv/ has no list at all.
I have a theory:
Everyone who complains about "Cultural Marxism" is a fucking retard.
>>87119046
a borderline nihilist philosophy full of internal contradictions

>post-modernism
>contemporary philosophy

Youre telling me I shouldnt take this guys word over my history textbooks?
I hate postmodernism.
Meta discussions about art in the end are just mental masturbations.
And they probably even hurt the arts themselves since it seems they lead in the creation of sub par products.

this is probably the guy who uncovered Pizzagate using his totally coincidental knowledge of child porn trading codewords
>>87119046
of course i like post modernism
but New Sincerity is better ;)
>>87119046
Depends to what degree it's used.
>>87119046
Most postmodern films, books, or whatever that I've come across are little more than wankery.

Of course it is full of internal contradictions because it's not a unified movement. It's like saying the United States is full of internal contradictions.
