I just finished watching the series finale and feel like with the right writers they could continue on with the series( it's almost been 15 years, if Twin Peaks can do it why can't OZ).
In reality the main character itself is M city and OZ as a whole. The inmates rotate out whether by death or parole, so it wouldn't be that hard to bring in a new set of leads. Hell, maybe bring back some lifer who's somehow managed to survive and I think you'd have a solid show.

so you bring back Oz. Beecher and Alvarez are still inmates, maybe McManus still runs Em City. But you better have a stellar cast to bring on because watching those three characters will get boring really fast.

O'Reilly was fucking awful and you can tell someone has shit taste if they like him. The guy was Tom Fontana's best friend so Tom always wrote O'Reilly as a badass who never had any real problems.
