I applaud them for the sheer randomness of adding some thai action, and actors and location, to this abysmal franchise. And also for finding a way to make a movie worse than the first skyline. Can't wait for some alien kung fu fighting.

Why focus on this shit instead?

First movie was utter shit but also kino at the same time in its depiction of an alien invasion as an impersonal and highly efficient harvest, against which we're hopelessly unprepared to defend ourselves, and in which we ourselves are broken down and processed as just another resource used as fuel for gathering more valuable resources. Truly one of the most horrifying alien movies I've ever seen in that regard because of its sheer realism. We wouldn't be perceived as anything distinct from the giant rock being harvested in the event of a real alien invasion.

It was surprisingly decent for a tech demo/effects reel to be quite honest with you famalam. I've seen Marvel movies with worse plots and acting. Worse effects too come to think of it.
