Martyrs was pretty great

This was actually a pretty good flick.

Watch it with my gf at the time, she loved it.

It's shit. It's also not a movement and the title is stupid. Horror is shit in 99% of cases. Relying on shock value is shit. And it combines the worst aspects of horror shock value with the worst aspects of modern French cinema, it's vulgar and stupid yet pretentious and boring.

What was oddest of all was the final scene. After the entire film being horrific unflinching torture, they shied away at the last moment.

High Tension is the best horror film of the 2000s.
