if you haven't ridden jurassic park at universal on a hot summer day then you have never experienced pure kino.
>>87078531
Shreks wet fart ride was far superior
>half the ride doesn't work anymore
>you can see the robotic bits on the animals now, most just spray a stream of water in your face
>they can't update it because the guy who designed it died and they have no blueprints.
It's one of my favorites at USH, but get real. The REAL KINO is Waterworld. It's an incredible stunt show.

I remember riding it as a kid and being genuinely fucked up by the raptors and spitting dinosaurs. I rode it again like 5 years ago and left thinking that maybe the kid version of me had shit taste and was easily impressed. Turns out, the ride has truly gone to shit over the past 20 years
i mean, the only good thing about it for me was the 80 ft drop, and that still works, so i'm good.

>70 year old asian woman and her family sit right in the front in the soaker section
>performers deluge them
>she starts crying
>show is stopped
>family is led away with her sobs echoing throughout the arena
>wanting to be around sweaty loud niggers and rude unfriendly Asians and spending 8 grand in the process
as of my visit to universal 2 weeks ago, the jeep doesn't even drop into the water anymore.
also a front of the line pass (which is necessary unless you want to stand in line with normies for an hour each ride) costs 300 fucking dollars.
i think you might be right, another part of our childhoods is gone.

>>87078724
I road it like 5 times just before it shut down for the night back in 1999. I don't remember it being interesting other than that drop.
>>87078531
I just did back in May, shit's fun.
I love the little dilophosaurus squirt guns at the end.
I can't believe they shut down the Jaws and King Kong rides
You know john williams isn't as enjoyable when the same track is played on repeat for 2 hours while you're stuck in line in 100°+ heat
>>87079020
>mfw my friends technically worked for NBC Universal for a while so we got free tickets and front line passes for the park

What the fuck? I went to both of those and they were kino as fuck. It was the 90s and I was in grade school though, but shit they were cool.

>>87079255
sorry im retarded
>>87079268
It's ok me too
>>87078692
Holy shit that looks way better than when I went on it this year, why the fuck don't they keep up maintenance on these rides?
>>87079283
Because you paid them to ride the shit version
>>87079173
You wont see big animatronic rides with giant set pieces like that ever again. They are way too costly to maintain over time and were prone to breaking and shutting down. Modern rides may feature 1 animatronic as the centerpiece like the new Kong ride or the Avatar boat ride but the vast majority of theme park rides will be motion simulations with screens like this piece of shit.
It's a damn shame too. Thankfully disney fans would fucking riot with pitchforks if they ever tried to take down Pirates or Mansion so at least those are safe.
>>87079541
Theyll just slowly take out the "problematic" animatroincs in those rides
What did you lads think of Jaws, Back to the Future, and The Mummy?
>>87079759
They've been doing that since the ride was first built.

>>87079807
>Jaws
Old and stupid.
>>87079541
I poopooed the 3D motion rides for a long time, until I actually went to Universal Florida a couple of years ago. The Transformers and Escape from Gringotts rides were fucking awesome. Hell, just standing in line for the Harry Potter one was awesome, with the 7 dollar pumkin juice, and the animatronic goblins.
>>87079807
The original jaws ride was one of the most ambitious attractions ever created. I would give just about anything to ride it as it was originally conceived. This was back then Universal studios and Steven Spielberg were in a partnership and Stephen really wanted people to "ride the movies".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBsYVDlYkhs
The Mummy is probably my favorite ride at universal. It's everything a ride should be.
Am I gay if I really like to go to Disneyland
>>87079998
>The Transformers and Escape from Gringotts rides were fucking awesome
I've been on the other Harry Potter ride and thought it sucked ass. I will have to check those out because I remember walking out of there wondering why the hell I stood in line for 2 hours
>>87079964
>>87080039
I thought it was pretty comfy. The Mummy was fucking awesome.
Back to the Future was cool. Is Twister still up?
>>87080086
no, of course not. why would enjoying a theme park mean you're sexually attracted to men?
>>87080137

universal studios hollywood? or universal studios orlando?
>>87080500
The real one, not the tourist attraction.
>>87080535
Fuck off hollycuck. Go jump off the Tower of Terror...oh wait
I currently work there and can tell you that there are so many sluts that work there. Like holy shit. You take your lunch in the break room with the TV and there are always dumb sluts flirting with other dudes. The place is just notorious for being a ghetto sink hole.
>>87080500
Florida is 2 separate parks and larger, each one has its faults and dumb shit. I prefer florida... because more variety, despite them trying to make you pay more with both parks and the hopper pass. if you want to see the complete harry potter experience.
>>87080656
>The place is just notorious for being a ghetto sink hole.
That's florida in a nutshell
>>87078531
I lost a camera full of disneyland and universal photographs, plus a bunch of souvenirs in that ride. Still loved it.
>>87080656
There isn't a break room with a TV, roleplayer. We have a private cafeteria.
Came here to also confirm that the mummy ride in orlando is the best ride. I hope they never get rid of it, or worsereplace the Brendon Fraser video clips
>>87080917

Water World was fucking dope.
If anything good came from the movie it was this stunt show.
>>87078594
Shit, that's the problem with it now?
I went on it two or three years ago and I thought the problem was that they were catering to people who like to take pictures or film the ride, since the person right in front of me was filming it.
For fuck's sake, they actually stopped the ride right before the big buildup to the T-Rex and make an announcement to put that stuff away for the drop. Completely ruined the experience.
>>87079074
>Orlando replaced the Jimmy Neutron Ride for Minions shit
I'm pretty fucking sure that decrepit old Shrek "attraction" is still sitting right next to it, too. The last time I was there, nobody would touch it with a ten-foot pole.
>>87078594
>they can't update it because the guy who designed it died and they have no blueprints.
That isnt true. They dont care to fix them because they act as overflow attractions for the more recent rides and they have a low operating cost due to not giving a shit about how bad it looks.
Universal Studios is no longer about the "experience". It's now about showing people things they recognize at the expense of creative standards and aspirations. Same issue plaguing movies
Same issue plaguing society in general.
>>87080086
Drake, is that you?
>>87079173
theyre on the studio tour. the best part of universal studios is the harry potter town
>>87080656
I have a theory that the chicks they get to play the princesses at Disney Land/World are grown in a lab. They're too hot to be natural.
Growing up I fucking loved the rides with stories and quality animatronics. Rides that took you somewhere. As a kid there was nothing like it (still isn't).
It pains me to see what has become of modern theme-parks. The magic is gone. That comparison of the old Jurassic Park ride vs today really made me sad.
The depressing thing is it's happening everywhere; quality rides are falling out of style. Why would theme-parks waste money on animatronics or quality rides when they can just throw you on some shitty roller coaster or 3d "experience" and the retard internet generation will just eat it up.
We deserve the nuke. I'm just glad I got to experience it when it was all good.
>>87078531

True ride kino. Brings back some great memories, lads. Still my favorite.
>>87084711
I enjoyed your story, reminded of me of my own experiences. I wish I had a time machine...
>>87084711
I'm happy for you, anon. Brings back some memories myself. There's nothing quite like a summer fling. The epitome of romance and young love. Thanks for sharing your story.
>>87079998
The escape from Gringotts ride is completely inferior to the other Harry Potter ride which used relied less on 3D bullshit.
>>87081179
It's still a pretty sick roller coaster, even with all the charm and gimmicks removed.
>>87078531
but can you do it on a cold rainy night in stoke?
>>87078531
The best thing to come from Jurassic Park is Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis. Fuck this game was good wish they would release it on GOG.

yeah by Frontier who also made other unfinished games with rip off DLC like Elite Dangerous and Planet Coaster.
>>87078692
I thought it was a roller coaster ride?
>>87078692
You should see it now. Shit's in even worse condition and so their answer was to just shove fog machines around the more broken animatronics to try and mask it. It's pretty disgusting how bad they let the ride get.
>>87086542
Maybe you're thinking of the Dinosaur ride at Disney

Dude....just what the fuck were they thinking listing to this fucking alcoholic? I guess I'm glad I got to ride Twister once even though that was a decade ago.
Went to the big spot in Florida back in like '04. As a 12 yr old, I thought Universal was way better. The Hulk ride was the fucking best (It was the heaviest coaster in the world at the time i think). Anyone else ride the dual dragon thing?

What movie that link was about the new jimmy fallon ride that replaced the twister ride in orlando. But that can all be said about jimmy fallon tbqh, I barley know anyone in the states that likes him
>>87086296
I hope they have the option to make parks in both the early 90s (91-93) and modern.
>>87088275
I meant ride, sorry.
Late Night Shows aren't common in UK and Jimmy Fallon was in Jurassic World and most thought it was some random actor
>>87088294
Its all buneo
But fuck I didn't even know he was in Jurassic world. And when you think of it, universal orlando receives more international tourist than the califonia park. So I really don't know how many of them will be interested in even waiting line for that "3D experience" ride
I'm pretty sure more brits know who conan is than fall on my face drunk fallon
Once they took down BTTF and T2 that park was dead to me. Fuck them. I will never return to that shithole mark my words. Never return.

You can tell it was heavily based on the Kong 360 part of the studio tram tour.
